This is a superb game and is an improvement on the previous versions. However, wouldn't it be great if a real promotion/relegation struggle took place by including premierships and division 1 and 2 leagues. That way, if you were relegated, you would be pitched against lesser opposition, in smaller grounds etc.

Totally.
Unfinish game, terrible roster, no AI just faster players...
And Fifa 99 11 in 10 stars ??!!?!?

It´s the curse of the Pinball soccer, or like some guys are saying: NBA Fifa...

Fifa 2000 is, no doubt, the best football game to date! The AI is creatively, brilliant. Play control is the way i've always wanted it. Smooth and almost error free. A step up from FIFA 99' for sure. One thing i'd rather have is John Mottson comentaring in the US version, dammnit!

Yes this game was overrated, and what bugs me is that no reviewer anywhere mentioned the annoying little things about this game that you find as soon as you start playing it.

Unfortunately I must say that it was a bit overrated.
I thought that the gameplay would be excellent, which it wasn't http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/frown.gif

The ballmovement is terrible...IS THAT REALLY A FOOTBALL!!??...

Opposite team scores their goal 90% on headers. And if they get a freekick in the middle of the field - It is a goal oppertunity!!!(This is on World Class anyway cuz I don't play PRO cuz it's too easy...)

I could go on and on....

But somehow I time to time enjoy playing it and keep on playing it for as long as I can..

But then I get frustrated at all the bad things and stop playing it for days..like now...

(NHL2000 is my priority right now even if it is so damn easy...)

Sorry if I got a little of the subject but I just had to say what I thought.

In the end - Yes it was overrated...

Is Microsoft International soccer a better game?. Does it have real teams and player names?.

I don't think Microsoft International soccer is such a good game.

Don't really know about the names but the gameplay ( I have tried it for about 5 min)
was I think even worse then in FIFA2000 - and that says a lot... http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif

The game was a let down for me. I thought that EASports were going to make some great moves forward. It could have been a great game if some simple and basic issues had been addressed but sadly they were'nt.
The biggest problem is a lack of a competitor out there. I have UEFA striker and This is Football and while both have some aspects that are great both suffer like Fifa 2000 from not being the complete story.
Each year I hope someone will produce the definative football game and each year i get a bunch of games that each have one portion of the game really on the money and other areas lacking.
I really wonder what sort of people the programmers use to test their games. I wonder what sort of games we would get if the programmers scoured these sorts of forums and hired the most ardent critics.

ZZBUB I totaly agree with you, I really wish someday someone would make a game with the playability of ISSS series and the rosters CM3. But I think we are a long way of that happening.

FIFA 2000 was overated, that´s for sure! Someone talked about movement? That´s BS, player movements are VERY unrealistic! Besides, even a THREE YEAR CHILD can play and score goals in FIFA 2000, since there´s no chance of mistake in a free-kick cross, for example! And to score goals in corners? I've already scored FIVE BYCICLE goals with Leonardo using Ac Milan, that´s RIDICULOUS. The game is just too easy and unrealistic. Graphics means NOTHING to me. I don't bother if the net moves or not when I score a goal. What I want is to "participate" more in playing (choosing the shot´s kind, the force of crossing, etc.), the computer just do almost everything!!! FIFA 2000 is just a FIFA99 with updated graphics, and FIFA 99 is worse than FIFA 98 with better graphics. FIFA98 and RTWC98 are still the best for playing, no doubt. Only LAMERS and their three-year-old colleagues FIFA2000 players think different. I bet they coudn't win a game in Professinal using FIFA 98!!!
