DO you guys find it hard to get pass opponents in fifa 2004?? I've never gotten pass even 1 person ever since i started playing it. The freestyle moves i did were kinda useless as the player slows down right after i did the moves instead of sprinting clear. Is it possible to sprint pass players cos even with owen i cant do it.

I cant do it either...did ea even test this thing btw?

I don't think it's possible to get past a defender. No matter how fast I run, he always outruns my players. Sometimes I did manage to dribble past them, but not easily.

yeh i cant do it either, not even with thierry henry, becos player attributes do not actually affect this game. henry shud speed past slow defenders, but no, not even against QPR he cant. the games rubbish and is annoying me

press E (walk) in front of the defender, then press the arrow towards him, then press E again...u will get pass him from the side.....

The catch up in this game is a load of B U L L S H I T.

I agree with Henry, i used arsenal and even a player from ipswich and tackle the ball away from henry when he's through on goal. Its like everybody's speed's the same. Hyypia has outrunned henry many times to the ball.

I agree too, the walk run routine is just a way to get around the problem. I'm 100% sure that they didn't intend you to pass defenders like that.

Did you guys notice another BIG BIG problem with passing ? It takes some extra time to receive a pass, right ? Realistic - no problem. But the running opponents are just as fast as a passed ball......so if I pass forward, the guy who defends me runs back with the back to the receiver & he's right infront of the same defender again.

Normally passing goes at least 2x faster than running. But AI opponents don't get tired and can catch up 2, 3 meters when they're behind as well !

BTW, those things haven't got anything to do with the speed of the gameplay. In terms of ballspeed it's from slowest to fastest: walking, running, passing and shooting.


It's FAR worse than the demo - never had a problem with it in the demo.

i kinda agree with the passing part coz its difficult 2 make a reali perfect through pass.. and when u get d ball.. u got to shoot man.. coz it tends to slow down when u get d ball.. and d defender b rite beside u.. and i have notice dat onli the home team get their jerseys dirty?! the clearance is erratic.. almost go out of bounds most of the time.. and i saw 2 of the most ridiculous bugs.. the goalkeeper caught the ball at d edge of the penalty area.. and juz fell down losing d ball.. ( ????????) and i giv a cross the forlan.. it was OBVIOUSLY at least 2 yards away frm him.. and i watched the replay.. he literally FLEW to the ball and volley it..
