I think that lazio have a good chance this year but barcelona must be favourites-also you can never rule out man united.

Based on form I would have to say Lazio. Barcelona doesn't have a reliable defence. Man United has keeper problems and aren't playing as well this season as last. Real Madrid have really poor domestic form, which might reflect on their European performance later.

If Lazio still had Vieri, they would kick everyone's ass hands down. From the way they are playing, they are the best team in the world at the moment.

This will be a surprize this year..

Based on current form (in the CL) my favourites are Barcelona and Lazio.
I doubt that Man U will win it again because they have lost their highly influential keeper...Schmeichel. Nevertheless, you can't rule them out because that's when they'll beat you.
Barca probably has the best "stars" on their team...Rivaldo, Kluivert, De Boer (both), Figo, Luis Enrique and basically the rest of their team. Despite this I might think that there defence is a bit worrying. But they should at least make it to the quarters.
Lazio, in my opinion, has the best/strongest midfield in all of the teams right now. Simeone, Veron, Almeyda...really can't get better than that. And even without Vieri they have proven themselves so far...not losing a single game in the CL and Serie A (not sure if they're unbeaten in both).

In spite of all this I would reaaaalllly love FIORENTINA to win. While they are total outsiders they do have the man called Batigol (who I think might be moving to Barca next season...so he should at least give them this cup). What more do you need. Rui Costa and Di Livio are also great midfielders...in my opinion.

So there you go...my thoughts...I am of course subject to correction ...but who cares right?

I am of florence and I love FIORENTINA and ours very great champion.
Absolutely the most great attaching some last 20 years old and surely one of the greatest than all weathers.
He is a Leader in field and outside and in field its presence is essential" also with an alone leg" !
