View Full Version : I like FIFA 2004.
I don't know about all you, but I like FIFA 2004. In past FIFA games, I have been critical of the lask realism, especially in 2001 and 2003 where unrealistic occurences were all to often. I purchased FIFA 2004 on XBOX from EB today, (yes I don't steal) and I have thoroughly enjoy it. Tackling is realistic, passing, shooting, corners, I really like it.
What is wrong with it?
::shinji:: 04-11-2003, 05:51:PM So what's the shooting like in your opinion, is it as easy as to score as a lot of people been saying?
Hey Poo Crusader, have you yet found a bug with the X-Box version whereby it freezes up occasionally? My mate bought the game last week and has that exact problem, and I've seen a number of people on this forum mention the same thing.
chris_gibson69 04-11-2003, 06:26:PM shooting gets pretty easy as you go on. i score most of my goals frm either headed crosses or curling it in from the edge of the area.
otb is quite fun tho!
Hugo-45-Viana 08-11-2003, 09:53:AM Try playing on pro my friend. I've never seen computer AI(BTW will you douche bags who are trashing the game stop saying CPU, when you KNOW CPU isn't an abbreviation for computer), like this. The goalie's down after a save and he sees the ball for just a second and he blasts up like a friggen' cannonball, kinda of like the old Ricardo(One playing for SCP).
AhmedK 08-11-2003, 10:10:AM I just got it for XBOX, and it doesnt freeze, it may freeze because there is dust in the console or something.
The shooting is great, it is easier to score this year...but thats only because the shooting is so much better, you can have low hard shots, lobs, rockets, last year you just sort of hit it and hope it went in, this year you have to pick where its going, how high, and all that good stuff,
and the team really plays like a team this year, last year after playing a while it feels like just one or two players moving around ,this year every player on the team is doing something, and you can call on second defenders, make runs, one two passes, lobs and traps, headers both offensive and passing, the skill moves are so easy to do with a game pad and the walk, and thats all without using OTB, and the GKs are so much better they really try and stop you they dont just look like bots that just dive near the ball, this year they will do everything they can to try and stop you, and you can really see the difference between GKs like Casillas or Buffon and a GK from a very bad div 3 english team, unlike FIFA2003 where all the GKs acted the same, the stats are no longer just numbers and words on the screen they really show up on the pitch.
I just need to know how to make transfers instead of player swaps when im not in career mode, and also how to unlock the third kits on XBOX.
$teauA 08-11-2003, 10:12:AM i just got the game today, awesome already started the carreer mode. shooting is awesome very realistic, ive scored a goal with crespo from almost the middle of the field because the kepper was way out of his goal, it was awesome too bad that u cant save replays :(

can be easy and hard... but I've scored from waaaay out
would classify it as hard first up, but again, like all games, you master it - and score frequently :)
Hockey Swede 08-11-2003, 04:21:PM Wierdo! :D :rockman:
Chester Guy 08-11-2003, 04:37:PM As i said in another thread in the forum:
"I got the PC version through the post yesterday(6/11/03) (a day before its release) and i must say, its actualy been quite good.
Ive been playing the career mode mostly, playing as yeovil town (being a fan of a conference team, i chose the most recent team to be promoted from the conference) i think im about 10'th in the league at the moment, having got to the third round of the league cup, after knocking out brighton, Carlisle, and getting knocked out to an extra time penalty by ipswich.
For some odd reason, yeovil are the only team on there that are totaly identical in terms of players... which is odd Identical but apart from that it seems quite accurate.
Ive read alot of complaints on here about the game, and i'd say that its a top game, well better than 2003."
Ok, the identical team of yeovil is slightly begining to anoy me now, and im feeling temped to take over somewhere else in that divison, but the addition of the lower leagues is a top addtition.
The shooting system is a little bit odd, sometimes you shoot and it goes strait in from way out, other times it blasts it somewhere near the corner flag, its pretty difficult to get into the box and shoot, due tothe good defences, so shooting from way out is the only real way to score... I think all but two of my goals have come from outside the box... but ill master it:rockman:
Jaehyun89 08-11-2003, 04:43:PM yeh u really need to do very short otb through runs to break in it's best to do crosses, in proffesional in career mode i drew to wolverhampton with newcastle 1-1 and i beat southampton 7-2
is a nice game, a good try by EA but have few part disappointed
-interface
-cpu ai creativity
-keeper
-long range effort
KoreaJjang 08-11-2003, 05:32:PM I think this is da best fifa so far...its very realistic(except of course scoring outside the box and Goalkeeper over-reacting).. i dunno y dere are so many complains....
mauri 08-11-2003, 06:02:PM Yes I think is the best fifa.
  fifa2004
Silencer 08-11-2003, 06:16:PM Man I was pretty sceptic when I got the demo but the full game is a beauty!!
It looks absolutely f*cking beautiful with my Radeon 9800 PRO and I like the Kitstemplate, the Ajaxkit looks better than ever.
One thing's for sure, they really looked closely to what the kitmakers here did cause the template looks pretty close like the FD template-series. I thought the graphics were not that good but I was wrong I must admit that the faces are more than excellent this year and the gameplay is very good as well like Ahmed stated here!
The Careerthing is a stroke of genious by EA, send your team to trainingscamp or an individual player who doesn't perform bye bye. The goalcelebrations are funny as well.
Now the kitmakers can send their requests to me for 2004 cause my ss look better than ever with this game in combi with my card :)
Let's hope I stay this optimistic ;)
Cheers
The thing is tho Martijn, you won't be getting any kits from me unfortunately, as I'm not doing any kits for FIFA 2004...
Silencer 08-11-2003, 07:31:PM NOOOOOOOOOOOOO that's a damn shame Joey, sure you won't reconsider??
JunCoolJun 08-11-2003, 07:37:PM yeah i like fifa2004 too....
im having hard time with professional level lol...
its not THAT easy to score from outside penalty area since the comp defense wont allow to take nice n easy shots

Yeah i agree, but they really did bad on some faces they did well in FIFA2003, like they gave trabelsi hair...a blond half-afro, they also gave pienaar braids but also not the right kind,and....they made De Jong....white....:kader: but on the plus side they got Yakabu, Sonck, Van Daame, Zlatan, Escude, Grygera,Brian and everyone else on the team but the the three listed above, right. But that doesnt really matter, because unlike 2003 the graphics are not the best thing, you dont really get to see the players faces unless its in a cinematic
When i first started playing 2004 i was always wondering when the big mistake would come in, but after playing career mode for a bit, i dont think there will be any big mistakes this year, what got me hooked was the fact that stats really matter this year, i put in sneijder(rated 43 :kader: ) just to see how he would do, and to my surprise i found that he really screwed with the team, he could get the passing right, he was a bit slower than everyone else, everytime he got the ball the other team made him look like a joke, and i also got a chance to add Mido back to the team after Sonck got a red and Zlatan was on the injured list, and im going to add Chivu and AVDM, once i get more money and if i get into a tight spot.
And its great how you can increase the skill of some bad players.
