I mean no disrespect to anyone who worked on this program (Fed2000) or to anyone who helped put together MLS2000 patch. First of all I thought it would be great to edit all the little kinks that I knew about the MLS. Like the fact that the Chicago Fire have a player out of college that has not been put on the team yet (he is on the official rostr listed at mlsnet.com...Yuri L....) any way, I also tried to edit Junior Agogo and Carlos Bocanera so that they have first initals but it won't work. No matter what I do they just wont get first initals. Then Chicago Fire is the only team that does not have their whole name (they just come up as Chicago) So I tried to put Fire after Chicago. My language is on English and I save the data then I select convert to DBI and select orignal and patched and save each time. Then I go into the game and when I go to select anything other than options the game just quits to windows. I was also editing heights of the goal keepers.
6'3" - ?? very tall
6'0" - 6'3" tall
5'8" - 6'0" medium
?? - 5'8" short
Now I also have MRA and installed MLS2000 through the MRA. FED is in my FIFA2000 folder and I am guessing that it is not editing the file in the MLS folder. Why does it crash? what am I doing wrong? Should I be editing the file somewhere else? Should I not be converting to DBI? I have never used this program or any of it prediessors so I am completely new to this.

P.S. Zach Thornton is not that bad of a GK definately a 6 in GK aggression 5 in skills and either a 5-6 in positioning. If not that good in positioning then make him a 6 in awareness. Matt Jordan has 6 in positioning and hartman has 5-6 in Skills and awareness

I suggest you wait for an update from the MLS2000 roster developer.

First, because any editing that you do on your own, you might disrupt something else that is supportive of the original file.

And second is that a combination of dbi files and db files were edited to create the patch rosters and text names.

I think you are overrating Thornton by the way, 6 in awareness? I think giving him 4 across the board is pretty generous. He might be that good one day but right now is too inexperienced. 6 would be like Pagliuca level, no way is he that good.

apparently you did not go to many games last year. I saw him and I think he has the capabilities. OK if 6 is too much then 5.

oops keep forgetting about the face. and I forgot to add this. Nit picking over GK points is not what this post is about. I would like to find solutions to my problems.

americansoccerstar,

Like I said, you are better off waiting for an official MLS2000 roster update from the roster developer.

Any editing that you do to the patch, might cause the game to crash. The importing db file option is good but there are some bugs in it. If you want to work with FED2000, I suggest that you do it on a clean fifa2000 folder without any patches or the MRA installed. If you try to edit other people's patches you might run into difficulties.
