SilverBoots dont be sad, Deportivo is a very good team, this match doesnt show nothing for me. Only shows that Deportivo is a winner team and received 8 goals cause they wanted to win! they are not a crap team that is "happy" losing 2-0 or 3-0 with full defense. Deportivo had the ball all the time, and scored 3 goals, something not easy playing away in CL. Is just a about luck factor, in the 1st half Monaco did 5 shots, and 4 ended in Goal, Monaco had his best day in years, there is not team in the world that can face that.


Anyway im sure you remember a Liga match in year 2000 [Real Madrid 1- Real Zaragoza 5] ... a few months later Real Madrid won Champions League beating Valencia 3-0 in the final.

Is just football, and everything can happens so keep supporting your team cause in this moment they need you :)

That match has got to be one of the worst displays of defending ever , a lot of the goals were soft and came from mistakes rather than skill. It was a bizarre game to watch as most attacks resulted in a goal.

I hope for a win this weekend against Sociedad to really boost our confidence again. This season WAS the best season start for Depor...but now look. The last 3 results have been terrible - ironically ever since we had hit the top of the table! We seemed to lose confidence after that!! And that kit...urghh! I was going to buy it but now how can I? It should be destroyed and we should use last years one!!

I saw the match yesterday evening, and Deportivo was CRAP! 8 goals, it's incredible in Champions League! I can't believe it, Monaco is not very good in French Ligue 1, they are fisrt yeah, but they won 4-2 against Le Mans, Le Mans is crap (OM-Le Mans 5-0, PSG-Le Mans 4-0)... It's unvelivable and ridiculous for Deportivo :rolleyes: Raul was with Morientes in the stadium, he's lucky :D

Sochaux is a pretty good team which can play very well, but they're not regular anymore. There is good players like Benoit Pedretti (he's in french national team), Pierre-Alain Frau, Francileudo Santos... But I think that Dortmund will win easyly ;)

Deportivo isn't crap, they had 60% of the ball, 8 corners (Monaco had 1 corner = 1 goal).

A crap team is that team that lose every match, not a team that lose just one match with a high score.

Sochaux won't stand a chance against BVB. ;)

Dont forget Monaco beat AEK 4-0 at home in this same group while La Corogne only managed a littlle 1-1 in Greece. Monaco also went to get the victory at Heindoven 2-1, which isn't a bad team.
I suppose Deportivo expected too much of this game, running into attack to decompose its defence. Monaco was lucky to score many goals quickly in this match, and Deportivo went forward again to try to come back...that was the bad tactic, for Monaco kept on counter-attacking and scoring logically.

I went to see this match as I live in Nice (just outside of) and so we're very close.

I went, payed €10 to get in, expecting a good match (3-1 or something) and I got a goal fest! Great value for money (H)

Monaco scored on every attack just. Depor were Doper in defence! (H) :rockman: :mrpimp:

That's it. This season, Irureta has chosed to play the defence way far from the box because Andrade and Naybet are pretty fast and he didn't care Giuly is fast as hell. Here in Riazor the lineman was rising his arm often but in Monaco it was different and the attackers never fall in the off-side so they had many scoring chances and they scored all of them. Molina and his defence had an awful day while Monaco players were brilliant.
But at last I think it was fine to lose that way, the team needed a change and now Djaminha is back on the field. If we had lost 1-0 I'm sure he wouldn't have played yesterday.
