IMO EA did what ever the customers wanted. I mean take a look at fifa 2003 forum, I would say 90% of it is modifiying the game itself, other 10% is playing. EA sees all that. I mean look at fifa 2002 forum and 2001 and so on. The majority of EA's customers are not after gameplay, they are interested more of graphics, sounds, licenses.... And EA did a great job by adding all that, not just that they have the online and the career mode in the game for a bonus for its customers. Us PES fans are left out of this game again and another year without enjoying this game. According to this forum EA doesn't need to spend on their AI at all cause they know they will sell more this way than just working on their gameplay AI. What do you guys think?

I think because of all the modifying poeple do and all the concentrating poeple do on graphics and logos lets EA not have to put so much emphasis on gameplay. I mean, from reading, a lot of poeple would lead you to believe that the gameplay in FIFA does't bother them at all, which I certainly don't understand.
I also think that EA is making attempts to make the game more realistic and they are taking aspects of the WE/PES and implementing them to FIFA. They slowed the game down a crap load (almost too much as sometimes the players are unresponsive) which is more like PES. They added the career mode which seems to be directly taken from PES as that was never seen before in any previous FIFA's. The ball is free like in PES and last year they even changed the controls to be more like PES (no more mashing triangle or what ever it was to turbo), now its R1, just like in PES. These are just a few of things I have noticed FIFA copying PES.
Don't get me wrong, I still think FIFA has a long way to go but I do believe they are trying (in that EA sort of way) to please us hardcore gameplay freaks who are looking for an in depth and realistic soccer gaming experience. Unfortunately, they are not doing it fast enough for me and I think that goes for the most of us.
Personally, when WE/PES goes online I will never look back. The only reason I am here is beacause I can't resist online play (I know I've said that 100 times).

Yes I noticed it finally, I mean just think about it, why would EA make few customers happy? instead, EA really concetrates on the majority of its customer needs.
How ever EA did attept to get a better gameplay which IMO they have done a great job, like the ball is not attached to player's feet anymore,,such and such... but they really forgot the most importand thing which is the AI. They havn't worked enough on that one cause 90% of the people here don't care. I have seen many posts here in this forum like saying I hope Beckham's face will look more realistic than last year's, some other guy responds back saying don't worry mate we have great face makers better than EA which will fix all that, another one, I hope EA will put such and such stadium, if they don't I will not buy it, here is another one, I hope EA gets the addidas license this year...... These kind of posts were seen when we were waiting for fifa 2004 earlier this year. When EA reads these kind of posts, EA says 'ohh boy another easy year, forget the most complicated part of this game which is the AI and concetrate on the easy stuff like graphics, Beckham's new hairstyle,,,,,'

EA did a good job so far they just need to make the career mode a little deeper like in the MAdden series, I would just like to see the gameplay improved a little more and more variety i the stadiums, and more different types of tournments.

Yes I defenately I agree with you man. If they can fix the AI and deeper career mode, it will be a great game, then we can compare it with PES but untill then it is far away from PES. I don't want to start a PES vs FIFA but this is my openion so far. As I said EA didn't work on the most importand thing the 'AI'. I can live with the existing career mode at the moment. But also in the career mode the CPU needs to make transfers and in the game the CPU needs to make subs according to the game situation.
