my adobe photoshop wont open bitmap files whats up with that?

Well, with PSP it's very simple.
THE KEY to do jerseys without losing the shade, its editing the jerseys at 24 bits.
The White/Black SHADE its the background. Create a layer with the MULTIPLY property. And start making your jersey at the LAYER 1.
That's the way that you won't lose the great shade.
