As an avid footie fan I was really looking forward to the release of this "groundbreaking" new game. After all the hype and pushed back release dates I stumbled across it in my local store a week ago. I went home with the game in my hand hoping this would be a great game. The intro is awesome, I really liked it and I hoped for the best when it came to the game. I started the game and...well...it was so SLOW. Passes seemed to take forever to get from one man to the other.
After playing it for about a week I can honestly say I like the fact that passes are intercepted, BUT it's almost always the computer that does it. I'm playing on World Class mode and when it comes to aerial justles there's only one outcome...the computer wins 49/50. This is the worst part of the game. Every time the computer gets a corner you might as well notch up a goal because your defenders stand no chance of winning the header.
The worst part of the game here in the US is the commentary. I'm not sure if it's like this on the PC version, but sometimes when they mention a name it sounds like someone else recorded it for the commentator. This usually happens with latin american and italian names. Just play against West Ham in the English league and you'll hear how he goes "Lampard" with a weird sounding voice. I think it's a slap in all the Fifa fans faces for releasing a game in this shape. MLS seems to be another part where EA did a bad job.
Well, overall it's an ok game, but I'd rather see more of Fifa 99 than 2000 in Fifa 2001
