When playing against the computer AI, they pack players in tighter on defense then a huge black prison inmate packs in sh*t up a skinny white guy's a*hole when he drops the soap.

Also, when you have possesion of the ball there is no way to protect it. When you get near a defensive player they just lunge at you and take the ball. They seem to have superhuman powers.

I am hoping that one of you people who makes those gameplay patches will make a patch that addresses those issues. It would be nice to have a somewhat realistic defensice AI.

i think the bigger problems are with the attacking ai, the fact that they dont cross the ball and dont EVER take long range shots

I know the defense looks unpentetratable but its actually very easy to score... :)
when you got space... only just a little bit of space to shoot... shoot!
you got more chance to score form some way out, at the line of the 16 meter box then close up front...
On semipro level you scan score lots of goals... with real madrid :)

The attack form the other team sucks a bit yes because no corssing and on long shots... well that what you got to use long shots... on semi pro the keepers have real difficulty with that...
on pro level there pretty well handling with it... but still its te best way to score... also with crossing you can score a lot... by pressing de A button (LOB pass) and let the blue meter go up a little bit about 3/4 of the meter... then you should almost all the time hit the ball... not certain to score doh...

First try the long shooting with semi-pro, trying to get some free space for a good shot and then just shoot... around the 16 meter box... point in the direction you want to shoot to and GOAAL! :) for me it worked, but remember it only works in space, so you have to create space baby! (by running away from the marker passing to a free standing player in the middle... etc) I should get a lot easier and a lot more addictive when you play on the higher levels like pro and world class..

And by the way i think the defense is very realistic... :) just try what i said it you should be fine... create space... use the C button... to hold the ball a little and when you use C and hten pass it should always be ok... :) you play well organised... to every free player and try to make space... when you got it... GOAL :)

Yea, its on amature or semi-pro, thats pretty easy to accomplish.

Ya on Semi-pro it is not unrealistically difficult to penetrate the defense, but on Pro the defenders have superhuman quickness and tackling abilities. Even when you get a step on them with a fast player like Owen or Henry and have your body between them and the ball, the defender catches up and knocks the ball away from you, usually by impossible tackles that could not be performed without fouling.

The sim results aren't very realistic - there is no way on Earth that Espanyol would ever be in 2nd place.

I play semi pro and its still hard lol but i can score goals but like 1 or 2 but its hard u gotta pass the ball around

i also played wiht west ham on pro... i also won a few games and lost some... it was hard... but not that hard...

trust me use distance shots from around the 16 meter wehn you standing free.. you'll find out...

when a player is a bit free from the defence just shoot... and point a direction of course on goal...not just one arrow... youll be fine then... it works for me... :)

By the way... Those shots posted by Frostbite show a problem I have. Why couldn't they make the standings (tables) appear like they do on T.V. or in the newspaper? I find it really annoying that you have to scroll to read the entire standings. They could have at least set it up so you could see the basic info on one screen.

there's this big jump in the AI from semi-pro to pro.. semi pro is so easy 2 score.. juz run at the players without pressing sprint then passing when they come near u.. juz cont till ur at the pen box and juz shoot.. the gk is there for nuttin.. at pro..they intercept balls like god.. their through balls r so fast.. while we have to switch between 1 2 3 wif OTB and by d time we make up our mind.. d ball is tackled away.. i guess i nid practice on OTB b3fore even tinking of moving to world class...

its not that big of a jump :) i still score the same way... only have to try more.. :) distance shooting works and yes teh tables suck...

The defensive AI on this game is complete crap. I started on Pro level, couldn't do squat, went to semi pro and still can't do squat.

I have also noticed a major flaw in the game. At elast half of the golas the computer scores are from an offsides position. It just doesn't get called! Sometimes it will, sometimes it won't. I have also noticed that if you are in a 1 goal game, or a 0-0 tie towards the end.. the computer will ALWAYS score to tie it or win with no time remaining.

This game is garbage.
