As you cam see from my post count, i'm not a regulat poster, just tend to read and observe, but i'm slightly concerned, at the mention in some posts, of guys not purchasing the game due to the lack of a DVD drive, but obtaining it through other methods, which i presume would not be legal, i'm in the same boat as a lot of people and will have to purchase a DVD drive to play this game, i ask all pc users, to please, try and purchase this game legally, as i fear that a short fall in Pc-dvd sales of this game will be the end of the PES series on PC, finally we have a game that is enjoyable to play, after years of only having Fifa for PC, i hope that we see many more years of PES on PC, but thats up to us i guess

I'll steal my Dad's DVD-Rom(My one won't read DVD's anymore - burnt out laser) and make a backup image of the game(CloneCD), then put my own F*cked up dvd-rom back in. :ewan:

Buying a new DVD-ROM can wait for while longer. :)

:lui: i still feel that Konami should release the game in 2 formats like what they did with Silent Hill 3 recently, which was released in both 1 DVD format and a 5CDs format. I'm sure PES3 won't go up to the size of 5CDs, so Konami, please do a sensible thing. Thanks. Muhaha:fluffy:

:lui: I have no ..muhaha...way of contacting/emailing Konami, so i guess my pleas will go unheard.. muhaha :fluffy:

When I first heard that konami will be releasing it on a dvd format I was very upset, but when I played the pc demo I went nuts and agreed on one thing and that was anything is worth for this game. I don't care if I have to purchase a dvd rom which I will cause its worth it :hump: rather than end up with fifa crap.

Be serious guys.
1) A good dvd-rom costs 55€
2) PS2 which is the only console iwht pes 3 costs 200 € without controllers and memory card. So about 350 with all and pes 3.
3)It may be realased on cd-rom and dvd-rom. So wait for the game.

just to imagine the size of the game:

the german "Gamestar" sais, the optimal size on your HDD was 2.8 GB...

come on guys, buy a dvd-drive! there will be more and more games on dvd only! it is not very expensive...and you won't regret it!

Come on guys... this is 2003! If you don't have a DVD-Rom drive by now, you sure don't deserve to play PES3 on your PC.
(After all, if you still don't have a DVD drive, that surely means you're stuck with a 3dFx Voodoo 2 on a Pentium II 300MHz... which won't play the game anyway!)

It's funny how you can get information about a person from just a few words. I'm betting that he is:

1) a teenager
2) a FIFA troll

#1 I'm sure of, #2 is likely.

To steer this back on topic, I concur with all the previous pro-Konami posts. I'll definitely be buying the game for myself, and may even pick up a few extra copies to give to fellow soccer fans for Christmas.

I want this series to come out on PC year after year. Konami deserves our cash. If you're going to be a jack and download something, at least stick to FIFA. Their product isn't worth the purchase price.

"Gee i'm impressed that your mom and dad have cable !!!"

u cant really blame the fella, why are konami treating us like monkeys ffs. wheres my game that was meant to have been released last week. what do konami expect us to do, watch all those people playing on their PS2' and not care?

i dont like fifa, but at least it came out earlier than PES3, and for multiformat at around the same time, rather than leaving pc users without a frikken game to play.

tbh if i could find and download it today i would, and that for me is konamis fault at the end of the day. they have not met my expectations for the release of the product , but i want that product now.

Are you serious?
That's one of the best spoilt brat rants I've seen on soccergaming...

Konami owe you nothing. The only dates that have been thrown around are the dates guessed by online game retailers. They are not your baysitter, it's not up to them to fill any voids in your life.

You act like they're depriving you of a basic human right. Instead I think you'll find it's simply them releasing their product when they see fit.

Nickg07
10-11-2003, 08:02:PM
"Are you serious? "

well yea, im sure that the retailers got a release date from source or other, i doubt they just amde it up to drum up demand

"Konami owe you nothing"

i know but then i dont owe them anything either, which is not how some people see it here?

"They are not your baysitter, it's not up to them to fill any voids in your life"

i see, well instead of getting bored of the demo ill sack it off and watcha film isntead no big deal, just a lost customer on behalf of konami? i am the customer here and i do have certain expectations as should all customers,

why do u think people import games, so they can play it early, and people always go on about us europeans getting screwed with late release dates (after jpn and the US)

well im a pc user whos getting screwed with later and later release dates, should i be happy about the date being put back?

i mgiht have made it sound a little meladramatic hut i can assure u my life isnt pinned on pes coming out, i just want it

if konami had release the product earlier, this would not be an issue, and i would never have needed post in the first place.

edit: just to clarify, if the game was available to BUY and to download at the same time, i would have bought it instead of thinking of downloading it, i do have it on pre order at play

but if i could play it first before it it is actually available by any other means but d/l then i would have no choice but to download

:p
Point is I don't think stealing games is justifiable, and definitely not justifiable for them pushing the release date back a fortnight.

I want the game too. I also want a decent amount of people to venture out and fork over their cash so I can play PES4 on my PC next year :)

No Nickg, Konami ows you nothing. You should be happy they made the best footygame ever. If you want to play it, you owe Konami two things:
1. Money :D
2. Gratitude for such a great game!

BTW I heared something about a utility that you can run a DVD on a CD-ROM-drive, did some of you guys also hear about?

Nickg07
10-11-2003, 08:34:PM
"No Nickg, Konami ows you nothing"

when did i say that they owe me something? i dont owe them anything and they dont owe me

"If you want to play it, you owe Konami two things: "

i didnt say i wouldnt pay for it, i just want it now i.e after the intial release date, i just want to play it now, does that make sense to u? and if konami will not give me the product when i am offering the cash that is not my problem!!

But this isnt the case, so it's all good :)

I think its great to have PES3 on DVD. But then again I hardly can imagine what they need 2,8 GB for?! :o

Take into consideration that PES costs about 30 €. A DVD-ROM will cost also about 30 €. That makes 60 € for the best footie sim ever AND a new DVD-ROM. Whereas FIFA2004 costs about 45-50 €. So you dont need to be too smart to see there is absolutely no sensible reason for NOT buying a DVD-ROM.

Thank you for your attention.

BTW, I love your sig Pure Soccer Maniac

2.8gb for the game in 10 different languages for a guess. its not just the text its the commentary remember. on the ps2 it stops for a while whilst it loads up the right commentary files, thats why its on an dvd and isn't a regional release.

You are dope if you think PES3 is pathetic... the Winning Eleven / Pro Evolution Soccer, is pure footy, realsitic, heart pounding football. If you think it is pathetic.. you have not a clue about real football.. plain and simple.. and your also a cheap bum.

Whatever son, do what I said, take out Konamis dick out of your ass, and you'll feel alot better.
PES 3 is as far from football as Basketball, but I guess your blind, and never played football in your life, so you wouldnt know, big surprise, now shut up and go play your cartoonish monkey zoo "football".

Yeah well you basically confirmed your age and intelligence with that post.
PES/WE is football, the best simulation to date and we all know it. And I do play in a weekly football league, I follow it, I live it. I as most of us here obviously know a hell alot more about it then you... Now why don't you go back to your fifa, and your fifa forums.. Your outclassed here.

It all makes sense now. He's referring to American Football, so he's definitely got a point. PES is nothing like the NFL.

BTW I don't think you're married, your immature posts scream "teenager". And if you actually are over 17, then that's even more sad. Older, mature folks don't tend to troll message boards looking to stir up trouble. There are of course, exceptions, maybe that's you.
