I have a problem with FIFA2000 en my Voodoo2 SLI cards: everything goes well until the match should start, then the game exits and I see my desktop again. Doesn't matter which resolution I try. I've got the latest Diamond-drivers (with Glide 2.54) and DirectX 7. I also tried the 3Dfx reference drivers, but then I get a blue screen with a message saying something about fxmemmap.vxd.
Can anybody help me please?

Am I really the only one with this problem?

I have Voodoo2 and the only problem I have is that the game sometimes freezes for a fraction of a second and starts again. This happens at the beiginning of a match more often.

I also have V2 SLI (Creative Labs), using 3Dfx reference drivers and DX6.1
My only beef is no resolution over 800x600 and choppy play (at times)

but when i want to play a game, i return back to my desktop. I downloaded all the latest drivers for my Voodoo2, but nothing works. The drivers from 3dfx.com gives a blue screen when starting Fifa 2000.

I solved my "returning-to-desktop"-problem by installing older 3Dfx reference drivers (Voodoo2 Driver kit Version: 3.01.01), they did the job. But this sucks of course, downgrading to older drivers. I like FIFA 99 better, this game looks better than FIFA 2000, but that could have something to do with these older drivers in combination with my 2 V2's. As soon as I have the money, I'll buy a GeForce or at least a Viper 770 (Ultra), I think FIFA 2000 will probably look a lot better then...
i have diamond monster voodoo2 i also have blackmagic 3d voodoo2 can i use them both at the same time?and would it give me better 3d appearance?

Matta did you try altering your registry thrash driver from "voodoo2" to "dx6"
?
This is exactly what happens to me. FIFA 2000 displays the goalie diving splash screen the screen goes black as if it is trying to start the game and then I get dumped back to the desktop.
Hidden & Dangerous, Homeworld, Sports Car GT, GTA2 et al all work fine. FIFA 99 works ok. What's different with FIFA 2000?
My specs are:
Windows 95
Pentium III 500
Voodoo 3 3000 AGP
96mb RAM
VIA Apollo Pro Plus chipset motherboard
AWE32 sound card
I have tried DirectX 6.1 and 7.0 with Voodoo drivers 1.02.18 and 1.03 (both DX6 and DX7 versions) = no joy.
I have downloaded and installed the latest 4-in-1 drivers for the VIA Apollo Pro Plus chipset to no avail.
I used to have a Matrox Mystique + Voodoo 2 12mb installed - could they have left some residual drivers on the machine?
Could it be the combination of an AGP Voodoo 3 with the VIA Apollo Pro Plus chipset - I think I read something about this somewhere?
Any help would be more than appreciated - FIFA 2000 is supposed to brilliant and I can't even get it started.
Thanks
I found this in the FIFA 2000 readme.txt.
"e) Problems with VIA motherboard chipsets
There are known problems with VIA motherboard chipsets used with an AGP video card and a PCI sound card, including crackling audio and possible lockups of the machine. These problems do not occur if both the video and the sound card are PCI-based."
However, my sound doesn't crackle and nothing locks up. The game doesn't even startup - the games goes blank and then I get dumped back to the desktop (apologies for reiterating) and other games work ok.
FIFA 2000 actually has some command line options that you can get at by running the exe with the old /? argument. -VIDEO is one of them (maybe this is meant to disable the intro movie) but I tried this and the same thing happens.
I'm just about out of hope getting this game to work.
Oh, BTW - I have Windows 95.
Any ideas?
