View Full Version : Rick, I disagree about the AI

Why do you think the AI is so wonderful? I think the extreme speed is the result of poor AI. It's VERY easy to score headers off of crosses (even in World Class). The problem is that the computer plays SINGLE COVERAGE on strikers in the box. Often the defender doesn't even stay between the ball and his man. The result is header goals from nearly 50% of crosses from the corners. Its just as bad on free kicks... the AI often leaves players completely uncovered in the box (a few steps to the side of the wall). Instead of realistic defending, the computer relies on super fast tackles. Often the ball is tackled away before you even have control over the player who just recieved the ball. The new shielding sometimes delays the inevitable tackle, but only briefly. The only way to keep the ball is to pass it instantly to another teammate (ie play ping pong). Of course good AI is difficult to achieve in any type of game. However, I personally believe the AI is not significantly different from Fifa99.

I agree with what you are saying Rimmer. I still think though, the AI is a tremendous improvement over FIFA 99.

I just wish someone would clue EA in on the fact soccer is played on grass rather than on ice. They seem to think the pace should be the same.

I agree with Rimmer. I do not think AI improved so much. Perfect cross every time how realistic is this? We should have the ability to modify the speed and direction of the cross.

Plus still there are to many fouls on this game that never get called. How hard to implement this logic????

I did not notice if cpu learn any of my tendencies.

Overall is still more playable then fifa99 on world class mode. My fingers was cramping when I played on world class on Fifa99. Basically you had no time to hold the ball on fifa99.
