View Full Version : Ugly textures with Voodoo 2

When I use my Voodoo 2 card (Diamoad Monster 3DII) the textures look bad, for example players numbers are wierd looking, players faces look flat etc. The game looks much better on my ATI Rage Pro card and some things look better even on software rendering mode. I'm running DirectX 7 and the lastest Voodoo2 reference drivers, although I've tried Diamond's drivers too.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a way to fix this?

Same problem here. I have tried previous tips posted in the forum but they don't seem to work for Voodoo2 cards. (Mine is a Creative 3D Blaster with 8MB)

Don't Use The Latest Drivers For Your Voodoo 2 Card.
Use The Older Drivers Of It ( 3.01 ) From The European Diamond's Site : www.diamondmm.co.uk , And Don't Forget That The Drivers Which Is Available On 3Dfx Site Won't Work Be Your Card.
I Have Also A Diamond Monster 3DII Card With 8 Mb , And Pentium 200MMX With 64 MB , And The Texture Is Awesome ! Almost Perferct And Much Better Than In Voodoo 3 .
Just Try My Solution And You Will See That It Just The Right Thing To Do !

Sorry, that didn't solve the problem. It did make the game a little bit smoother, but textures are the same. Thanks for the tip anyway. Any other suggestions?

Its not the card or the drivers. I have a voodoo3 3000 and the numbers look like crap. Its EA that messed up, they can't even make nice looking numbers.
