well, i now have about 15 or so games
played under my belt on the playstation version
of fifa 2000.
i think the gameplay is overall, a bit better.
graphics are improved, crowd chants are improved
(although i wish they wouldn't cheer so much when
the visiting team scores.)
and the cut scenes are nice.
particularly some shoving after a foul and before a card.
i like the aerial duels with guys going flying.
gameplay is a bit slower, i think the speed would be
ok if the pitch was just bigger.
complaints:
in doing a season with lazio, nedved got tossed in an
italian league game. my next game was in the european cup.
and nedved was suspended for it.
correct me if i'm wrong, but red cards in one competition don't
carry over into another.
also, if a player is hurt, or suspended, you can't move
him to your reserves, you're just stuck with a smaller bench.
and the computer still does not get called for enough fouls.
its better than fifa 99, but when i tackle and a player goes down,.
it seems a foul is called 75% of the time, compared to about
20% against the computer.
whatever, its better in some regards than fifa99, and worse in
others. somewhat disappointing but still fun to play.
oh, and please ea, never never never use the american
commentators again.
