Ive been playing the pc version for a few hours and i still havent been able to figure out the dynamic and control aspects of the shooting system.

The ingame training tips section says the longer you hold down the shooting button the higher the more elevation the ball gets.
So if this a power control or simply elevation control??

How much directional control do you have on the ball when you shoot?
There doesnt seem to be any at all.It just depends on the angle that your running which i think is stupid because you should be able to angle it to the right even when your running straight.

Is there a way to hit the ball along the ground with even a smidgen of power???
Again there doesnt seem to be a way and everything is elevated.

I think its even sad to be asking these questions because they are such basic necessities of a football game,it would be like asking how do you turn right in a car racing game or something.

I personally think that for a shooting system to be as realistic as possible it should have to player controlled variables.

Elevation and Power

Those are your real life controls so it only makes sense.

The type of shot would depend on the relative inputs of these two parametres giving the player a high degree of control yet a high degree of difficulty of getting a shot perfect(as it should be) because of the task of balancing power and elevation over a narrow window before the ball is kicked.

Does anyone have any information of how the pes3 shooting system actually works?

It doesnt seem like a very hard task to make a totally dynamic shooting system yet it seems nobody has been able to produce it.
I used to play sensible soccer on the amiga in the early 90s and that still probably has the best shooting system ive ever used which is really sad considering its 2003.

From what ive seem so far the pes3 shooting system is not good enough.
For my standards anyway.

I will try to explain how the shooting works.

If you just barely touch the shoot button, you place the ball very gently along the ground, past the keeper. You approach one on one, pivot your player to one side, and tap the shoot button.

The longer you hold the bar the HIGHER (elevation) the ball travels at.

If it is about a quarter filled, you get a ground shot. The strength of shot is limited by your player attributes. Sol Cambell will be crap, but Schevchenko will blast it low.

At halfway, we are talking higher elevation shots. Try to keep shots from inside the penalty area well below this mark as it's easy to sky it. With practice, you can judge it well without thinking about it.

From outside the box, you need more height so hold it for longer.

The shooting is subtle. Your player needs to use his correct foot in order to shoot on target, unless he has a "outside" skill attribute (like Owen) that allows him to use the outside of his foot.

Your player needs to be balanced!!! No good turning away from goal and just shooting. It will miss alot. However scored a thunderbolt on the turn from outside the area with ..... HENCHOZ.... but then I realised i was playing FIFA 2004 ha ha

The direction of the shot relative to the way you were facing can be changed slightly by aftertouch.

Hope that helps

Thanks for the info.

I still cant shoot on the ground regardless of how fast i press the button though.

And are you sure there is after touch?
I read in another thread that there isnt.
Im assuming by aftertouch u mean curving the ball.

Wonder if the manual acknowledges it.
