I ve started the season and it takes 10 min just to get through a day, sometimes longer. is this normal???
i have a pentium 2 350 and 64 mb of ram.

I think your computer is kinda slow it takes me less then a minute to get by one day.

It depends on which options you have open, e.g. how many leagues you've selected, if its more than five (eight including backgrounds) then that may be the reason its dragging.

im now into the season and it gets quicker. way quicker, sometimes not even one minute. somebody told me it happens to him too and he has a faster comp than me. but it does quicken up...... i wonder.....

Defragment your hard-drive.

If you have an anti-virus program open, then close it down before you play.

I had Norton open, and it slowed my game way down.

I got eight leagues runing seven on background and one on foreground, if had all of them runing on foreground it would be alot slower.

I also thought that, but when i got used to it, it seemed normal. Actually, at the beginning of the season there are a lot of matches going on (cups, like Intertoto cup, or early UEFA Cup) and the computer for some reason has to simulate all the games, and sometimes you don't even want to know the cups' scores. So, at the beginning of each season (like July-August-September) the game really slows down. It should be ok later on in the season...

Cm99/00 is already a game which will run slow if it contains too much information. This huge database will require a fast pc to run the game fast.

It's strange that the game runs slow when you start. If the problem doesn't stop, there's something "wrong" with your computer.

does it happen when i finish a season and go on to the second season? does it still go slower than normal?

it goes slow every season, like in August. The most peacefull time is April and May, where it just looks like it scoopes through these months...

I am more concerned about how you win a bloody game! I'm on my 10th game of the season and I have lost 8 of them. How do you get possession of the ball! Please give me any tip before they through me out!!!

In the Cm 99/00 forum in this site, I asked the same question. I also lost a lot of games and there was nothing I could do about.

The only way to survive is to try almost everything. Have a good training so your players don't complain too much, but the most important thing have a good tactic.
I use the 4-1-2-1 tactic now and move the two dmc's too midfield and let them man-mark. Maybe it's not the best option but I always get beaten if I don't. They score a lot of goals. (My teams I managed before never scored that much).
When I had too wait for 14 days I arranged a home match against an Italian club. Torino and Roma (they were nr 1 at that time), I didn't won them but the next leaguematch I won. Maybe it hasn't got to do with it, but ok.

I'm hoping this system will work now. I never won a league or cup and I always got sacked before. So I don't know what will happen later.

I think that the player selection/scouting is more important. All you need is a good team and desire to scout the lower divisions than yours. Tactics don't matter if you have a poor squad and stuff. If you start managing a Premiership side, or a 1st div. side, you should have no problem. Just buy the youngsters from the lower divs than you! This game doesn't suck and it doesn't have the problem FAPFLM 2k has -- all players (almost all) will come to you from lower divisions.
Also, sometimes the tactics and squad computer arranges is much better than the squad/tactics you arrange. I was loosing all games with my tactic, but one time, just before the next match, I have chosen the option "go on holiday" just for one match and the computer won 5:0 for me!!! So, my squad selection was excelent, but the tactics I have chosen sucked a$$.


well, if everything goes wrong, go and download save game editor JattSave and edit what you want!

even at man utd I have problems. I win for the begining but after 30 games I can't score and finish 4th then get sacked. Y is this ?? Man Utd have a load of class players but can't score !!!!

I wrote a couple of posts regarding tactics and strategies, just search this forum for some of my old posts.

I always loose away games with my team. It doesn't matter what tactic or players I use, the cpu always beats me. What can I do then???? I change tactics an everything during the game but it won't help.

And I always loose games at home against teams with better players then mine. Even if I change the tactics during the game or let the players man-mark more, the bigger teams always can score a lot of games. And they win!!! AAAAAAAAHHH!!!

Other question. I played a match and I lost 5-0. I saved the game with another name and played (the saved game of before) again. Then I won the SAME game 4-2! How did that happen???? Why does it work sometimes, and sometimes not? By the way I only did this trick ones, because I DON'T like to cheat. I wanna win games on a normal way. I wanna win games against stronger teams and I wanna win AWAY games WITHOUT cheating.

Any suggestions????? And like Russian Rocket said, the CPU tactics are good too. So what tactics are the best don't only help my team winning. Anyone????

here's a suggestion -- tactics, for some reason, really matter in CM 99/00 (as I said -- if you have a poor team, tactics won't help, but anyway...). I like to experiment with my team. Sometimes I even put defender as a forward. And a lot of times I just lost my games. But one time I beat Manu with 3-6-2 tactic, playing in 1st division...
From then on, I used the same tactic against Manu, and i was loosing and tying my games with them (Arsenal, in my league, haven't beat Manu in 6-7 years/seasons)

If you're managing Manu, everything should be easy -- you have money, you have good players, your team is respected (players will go to you). If you feel that you just loose every game, just before a match go on holiday and see how your team will do....
