System: P4 3,2Ghz, Radeon 9800XT, 1024 Ram DDR,... game runs fine. absolutely no problems.

I`ve been playing PES3 for some days now and I have to say it`s not all that great. I will just point ups and downs in my opinion:
- looks of the game: graphics suck, player models look like they came from a FPS game, some authentic faces are totaly screwed up, stadiums are a disaster, pitch (grass) also, I can see weather effects when before the game starts but then they dissappear...I really expected more from screenshoots
- interface: menu is not good, you can`t use your mouse, configuring controllers is hard...the whole menu is made for consoles not fo PC and it pisses me off...they made an incomplete game
- kits and teams: I really hate this, I could spend a week just editing player names and teams (and editing is hard because of the menus), rosters are incorrect also...even if you edit everything the commentary still says stupid names like "Chamartin"
- none of the authentic leagues or tournaments
+ gameplay: there isn`t much to add here as everything has allready been said
+ creating players: huge amount of faces, hairstyles, accessories to choose from
+ adidas licence: really good looking boots from adidas, and ball also
+ many options of custom cups and tournaments and special master league

You can see I am very much into looks of a game and that is why this game didn`t saticefy me completely.
It`s just my opinion...

You can use your mouse in the menus.

One you get over the non arcadey, non kiddy, non fifa viewpoint I think its the most accurate football SIM I have ever played.

PES3 isn't the perfect football game, I doubt anyone claiming it to be would be talking rubbish but it is the most perfect game on the market at the moment, obviously many things still need tweaking.
As for graphics, I'm not quite sure what you're on about because the graphics looks inch perfect. The pitch, weather, players etc all look brilliant. Maybe they look crap because you are playing the PC version on a low resolution? I've got it on PS2 and the graphics are awesome, obviously there's always room for improvement.

LOL most of the PES fanboys got it for console, no wonder, they don't suffer from the awful PC coding.

Yeah the coding isn;t good, the menu is made for the ps2 but i don't care! at least it's playable on pc! otherwise i should have bought a ps2.
And the menu isn;t that bad... i know my way around it very fast, it's way better then fifa's. The editing part is irritating but i let others do that ;)

Yeah you are right about that imcomplete part..but hell i am happy now i can play pes3 :) lets hope some patches will make it better
And about the graphics...they do there job well i think but it's just like the ps2 version with higher res

FPS???? They are at least on par with Fifa who normally excel in this area...authentic faces screwed up??? can you elaborate on this???

this is not an incomplete game, it is just badly modded to PC thats all, the interface works fine with a joypad which is what you should be using for the game. This is not an excuse...but its not a show stopper.

This game will be edited like mad and have tools and utils to help you do this. Even when I owned Fifa with licences I had to edit the thing - doesn't take long before the default rosters become out of date.

Use a bit of imagination. :) This is a licences thing again.

In conclusion: sounds like you got a major problem with the cosmetic elements such as graphics and licence.....

I agree that this is a lazy conversion. I mean even the manual is mostly ripped from the PS2 one - the pictures of buttons are PS2 ones. But considering most people will be playing with PS2 pads - this is forgivable.

I was also underwhelmed by the whole thing - but this was probably down to me playing the demo so much.

By authentic faces being messed up, he probably means Beckham(really mucked up), and the non-licensed players like van Nistlerooy, Davids and so on. But you can find the non-licensed players' faces in the editor.

I also have problems with the computers adapting AI which I don't think reflects how it should be. Why not make it that difficult to begin with?

Personally, PES3 at 1280 x 1024 looks amazing. Admittedly I'm only really interested in the visual elements that enhance how the football looks from the sideline cam.

Fair enough, you don't like the aesthetics but personally I hope KCET will always focus on gameplay over visuals :)

The game's graphics is perfect if you have a decent PC. If you run the game at 1280* 1024 (high detail), the game will look amazing. So do not bitch at the game's graphics if you got a dip**** pc. Everything is there for you to enjoy, but you have to have the right equipment first. About the license. Who cares!! People are making their own kits anyways. This is the part where I got confused. Look at FIFA, they got all the kits and such, but people are still making their own. Even if the game came with all the kits and flags, in the end, it doesn't really matter. I am playing with all the kits that people (Gobby's, and few others) have made, and they're looking great on my PC. Finally, on to the gameplay, if you think the gameplay sucks, then it is your problem. The ratings for this game from various magazines or internet sites ranged from a low 90 to a mid 90. So here is my question. Did all those people made a mistake? NO! This game is the best soccer title on the market right now.

I would say also that the graphics in pes3 are really very very good, to say konami have not got the licence for the kits and such stuff they have still done a fantastic job with what they do have, basically having the right faces or not is not such a big deal, lets face it people we just want to play a good soccer game, and konami have allowed us to do this with pes3, i don't see any people making gameplay patches to improve pes3 gameplay unlike fifa 2004, plus also when iss3 came out for the pc that had better gameplay than fifa's it really was end to end soccer, although graphically it was very poor, at the end of the day it comes down to the gameplay which pes3 has in spades.

Who said the gameplay sucks? If you are reffering to my post you should learn to read (cause I also wrote what kind of system i have and it`s not lacking).

I still stand with the graphics part statement... I guess beauty is a relative thing... Maybe you aren`t demanding enough or maybe I am too much... Who cares, I won`t argue with people who can`t take critics (which weren`t so harsh).

to me the graphics are very very acceptable. The player models look fine and the pitch looks good.

the most important thing is that with 4xAA and 8xAF, the game still runs at a constant 60 fps for me. Compare that to Fifa2k4 where it dips to 30 fps sometimes.

rosters can be patched... kits can be patched. Just use the great work that has been done by others ....

if you hate the PES menu, the FIFA menu will make you rip all of your hair out.
