Tight groups showin that the elimnation of the 2nd Phase was theRight Decision. For once Football won over more money.Thats more money, not money.

Group A
Lyon are my favourites to go through, more likely to get a result at home to Celtic than away to Anderlecht
Bayern have hardest job of tight groups as Celtic are v.strong at home,if lose, they cud still quality if results go against Lyons
Celtic have two tough matches, more likely to beat Bayern at home than Lyon away.Result against Bayern most important
Anderlect are very strong at home, but i think the task is too much, they need four points i think they'd only get one.

Group B
Tight group...dont be surprised if it ends wtih three teams on 8 points and one on 7, if thats the case its results against each other that count most Inter hold the advantage as shud they lose to Arsenal,it is unlikely to be by a large margin

Arsenal failed to get results rather than perform,if luck goes their way,big score margins may make them surprise winners
Internazionale are favourties to go through becuase of earlier results, but if recents results are to go by,they are in trouble
Dynamo Kiev could easily go through,or not,no games are easy, and Moscow will be up for this one.Inter game will decide
Lokomotiv are grindin out the results they needed last year, they are a good side but they benefitted from Inters Cuper sacking

Group C

PSV need to avoid defeat to still have a chance..if they lose...they are out, unless Deportivo lose as well
Monaco go through if they win, a draw and its still undecided if Deportivo don't lose, but if Depo lose,Monoca r thru
AEK are out becuse PSV and Depo play each other...even if AEK won both games gainin 7pts
Depo can still go thru if they beat PSV in the last match OR dont lose their next two matches,so 2nite's match mayb meaningless
Group D

Juventus have already qualified and only Sociedad so far managed to hold them, which makes them favs to join JUVE
Olympiakos are strong at home, but have much to do playin Real and Juve, can't see them winnin both which is wat they need
Galatasary need Sociedad to lose against Olympiakos, and beat them in the final match, but 1st,Juventus at home, too much.
Sociedad simply need to avoid being defeated...or win one match, I think the more likely is the home match against Gala.

Group E

Manchester United and Stuttgart are qualified already if they didnt have to play each other. They do,so its between 3 teams

United are favourties, they have an easier job away to Panathanaikos than Stuttgart do home to Rangers
Stuttgart are best placed to quliafy, all they need is a point, and may well get it against Rangers
Rangers need 6pts including 3 from Stuttgart,if they succeed, they'd be my favs to join United
Panathanaikos are out already, they concede too many times, making the clubs who have to play them favs to get points

Group F
Madrid are through, but Belgrad held them at home, shudnt underestimate them too badly. But they are crap away
Marseille have been disappointing and a bit unfortunate, they cud struggle agians Belgrade n may lose UEFA cup place.
Belgrade must win their last 2 games to qualify...the toughest wud be beating Porto at home, but they cud make it with 2 wins
Porto r my favs to join Real, but Belgrade cud still throw them.A win tomorrow will settle it for Porto, otherwise a point in Madrid

Group G - Tight to call
Chelsea on 9 need just a point from 2 games to go through, they will get 6 altho Sparta may hold them for a point.
Lazio, unpredictable, they're weak at home and may struggle to deal with Besiktas there, but Sparta away wud be harder
Besiktas cud go through,if they get a result at Lazio it may provide the momentum to take points from Chelsea too
Spart Prague have it all to do..it depends on how the others do,Chelsea seem tired,if they get a draw and beat Lazio.

Group H
The two Milans are in tight groups, the difference with this one is that AC & Ajax r a bit more glamorous than Inter & Arsenal

AC Milan cud b the shock of the round instead of Arsenal, they need to win in Amsterdam, very tough,if they do,they are home
Ajax could also shock and miss out,the trip to Brugge may b a banana skin,if after Milan they require a win, they'd pull thru
Brugge would be my bet for an upset ,if Ajax beat Milan, Ajax won't win in Belgium. But 1st,the spanish job.
Celta are strong at home, and that may be the edge they need to beat Brugge, its so tight here ur guess as good as mine.

I think ESPN has a rule that if it doesn't involve a La Liga, EPL, or Serie A team then it won't be on TV. I can't recall the last time ESPN televised a game where one team from one of these leagues wasn't represented.

Olympiakos plays in Rizoupolis Stadium because Karaiskakis are been rebuilt for olympic games.
Same situation for Galatasaray. They play in the new Ataturk Olympic Staduim of Istanbul.

Its down to those wads of notes...its all money...we will pay..so what makes us see matches depends on how much the different parties involved can scratch for their share of the wealth..

in the UK,, the FA want to capitlaise the most...so they seriously resitrict matches viewd ...the official excuse is that in the 80s, too many people were sitting at home instead of goin to the stadium, so to discourage that..they banned all live broadcasts of EPL matches on a Saturday. Well it got more people travelling to the stadiums and those who couldnt be bothered had to settle for highlights on the BBC program called the Match of The Day.... since SKY stepped in though and descided to exploit the football potential... viewing fugirues rocketed..the game got more money..teh FA obviously compromised..which is why more and more games were pushed to Sunday and even Monday, later ti became a good idea because of Champions League matches etc to be able to choose different days.

Originally FOotball was not allowed to be played on a Sunday, religious reasons you see.

espn shows only games with teams from those leagues cuz americans dont care about football, and the ones that do, only want to see the big games, so theres your answer. pretty simple

but i want to disagree since the games that they show all real madrid games when they play on tuesday, even if they play against a crappy team, when there are better games in the cl.

now, they are not playing tomorrow so they wont show it cuz of that, not cuz the other game is better.

That is not 100% true because they showed Man. Utd. vs. Rangers last week and of course they are gonna show Real because on their team they have the best known players in the world:)

You know what...i think the attitude on here really sucks from some of you... ICEBLU, u may be a moderator...on here but if thats how you behave to people when they post stuff than i certainly dont want to be a part of it.

A polite reply explaining what was wrong with those group posts is all thats needed not threats like ... "you are outta here" ..that is bad attitude man, you dont behave like that to people especially relatively un-involved ones, if i've done something that is not allowed...explain to me in private..DO NOT publicly upbraid me like a 4year old child, its most offensive. We all have a right to say what we please, if what we post violates some rule then let us know without the threats, you could be a little bit more civil, I'm likely older than you and probably have been a member of this forum for longer..original name was Mace, joined the community when FIFA 2000 was released in 1999, now MACE II because my original log in details were lost. I very rarely come on the forums these days unlike the past, but once in a while i contribute something...the last major thing was the formations I was helpin Chau-Li i think it was when he was building FED 2002 to correct the formations bug in FIFA2002 ..i've notice some bad attitude by moderators over the past years, when new people have come in, and altho some may have stepped out of line, the reaction was generally bad and often unnecessary.... rude words and hurtful exchanges...often enough you have some cheeky offenders...but i think its clear i haven't said anything rude or offensive EVER...and i detest these silly warnings, save it for the real violaters, not me.

The reason i re-wrote the information you see at the beginning of this thread and split it into groups was beacuase i felt my original post was far too long, and all i wanted to discuss couldnt possibly be treated in a single thread , nobody really took the time to read it because of the length...and u can tell by the responses given..NO response has been with regards to the first post as it covers so much. So, i thought i'd let this thread continue in the direction it was going, and took a lot of time to re-write those 7 threads so they could stay more to the topic of discussing each Champions league Groups' position and memebrs could more effectively, and efficiently air their views in a tidier fashion about tomorrow and Wednesdays games....it was too much for one thread...i mean look at how many replies some of the feature match threads...eg. Inter vs Arsenal have got...so please explain to me what was wrong with what I did, I certainly do not appreciate veiled threats...if i've done something wrong, write to me in person, you can kick me off this forum if its your right...but I go back a long long way, and that is bad attitude even abusing or your powers...I DO NOT APPRECIATE IT. You have a problem, write to me, i took the effort to personally enquire why they were removed...check your private messages..one was sent to each moderator online at the time.

After spending all that time...you just remove it, without no explanation..but a public warning man...now that certainly makes me want to write more stuff, It doesn't make me want to participate if i'm goin to be treated like that every time myposts are considered to be boosting! what is the whole idea of a forum anyway? Peace man, air your views..discuss your position..alreayd i noticed there were 2 replies inoone, but a few secs later they wre all gone..if i had done a group every 30mins you likely woulndt have deleted them, or if i had phrased each topic differently.. or is it the fact that I posted so many threads? Is their a limit each member has to threads? i didnt know their was one? is it a crime to re-write stuff in a more reader freindly fashioon or to discuss something on topic...

I guesss iceblu...i'm askin what went wrong.

I kinda use to think u were cool due..wasn't it you that had a Dennis bergkamp photo next to your name sometime last year? wasn't it around novemebr u became a moderator..or was it a bit b4 that?, you use to talk sense then, to be honest you surprise me, i would not have expected that from you man, especially how i've seen you diffuse a situation or correct a few misguided members... And the threads weren't intended just for one matchday, i was actually hopin they will become focus points for the next two weeks...or even after match day 6...its a great idea to have a group corner as many people talk about the Champions league matches...THATS why i wrote all eight of them...and it took me a lot of time man, i could have been doin other stuff thats why it hurts, u spend so much time only for it to be delted, no explantion except a rude public threat

read the thrid paragraph of the 'essay' it explains exactly why i did what i did. Why did you do what u did? Stop making a big deal out of it.

Did u read the replies you got in 2 of those threads ? Voltaic Borussa said "Whats wrong with you" and Fernandez said "Stop postboosing"

So listen there sunshine, we DO NOT need 8 different threads for a matchday or 2. Its not how things are done around here.

And besides, whats the point of this thread then ?

Imagine - 8 threads for the groups, 1 more thread also related to all the groups, then seperate threads for each match :| does that make sense to you ? I guess not or you wouldn't be arguing about something so trivial.

Postboosting is what most newbies do and i have to be harsh with them to prevent the boards from being spammed. I have to clean it up in the end.

You may not be a newbie but how was i supposed to know ? Either way, Newbie or not, we dont need so many threads about the same topic alright ?

Just imgine the confusion with 20 threads about the same topic tomorrow when the matches are played :| First your 8 threads, then this one and then individual match threads....

Its nothing against you or anyone... Its just that i had to delete them to prevent further annoyances.

To the individuals who were pissed of by the 8 threads...Fernandz and Voltaic 'somethings obviously wrong with me' but same goes for all, ddint mean to offend so sorry.

Anyway...so this is first forum i get kicked out of LOL. Well their is a first for everything, its been loads of fun and some sleepless nights over the last 4 years...the forums were always a great help...exspecially with game enhancements and technical issues for the FIFA series it was pleasure contributing, HONESTLY. This soccerforum was a good idea to. WE all like football, lets keep it peaceful, free of violence, racism and enjoy.

And Ian (celtic fc) Yes, your point is Arsenal have never won the 'Champions' cup...YET. There is a first time for everything..I hope it will be soon...how boring it wud b come if only the same teams ever won it. As Arsene Wenger says, there about 8-10 sides capable of wining this cup and I bleive Arsenal are one of them, the differences between them are so slight. Its the team that believes in themself that wins it...that is the secret to success, BELIEVE. Arsenal certainly have the skill to win the competition, so do others, lets see if they have the belief.

P.S...do i get an e-mail? or message before i'm removed from the forums permanently?

THESIS 4

What do you think all Real Madrid's big money spending buys them? It buys them confidence...enough to win 3 Champions league titles in 6 yeaars..we say they have all the best players? what is best? MOst skillful? Ah, most confident, those players became skillful because they BELIEVED they could do it, u cud say they gave up less times than others.

But as we see, confidence doesnt always remain high, and there is such a thing as overconfidence, which is not really belief, but complacency, well how many times have we seen mighty Real beatin by the lowly Osasuna's and Sevilla. Offcourse htere is more ot it, but you need the heart..and that is where belief flows from it is the heart of success, from it everything else flows, teh skills, even the genius.

There will be Major upset. Most likely upset? Club Brugge ... now given that few of us believe Arsenal can go through, you wouldnt say elimnation later on today would be a shock would you?

Paul, you may be relieved to know I am goin to take your advice and SHUT UP...would u prefer for good? I will cut the writing. It does seem a bit too much and a bit unnecessary, can't help bein dedicated tho...peace...and GOOODBYE ALL....Thats All Folks
