No.

Players *should* make runs for you, however this doesn't seem as good a feature as it was in PES (not sure about PES2).

I'm pretty dissapointed with the AI of your players in this area. In PES1 forwards would run up the pitch with you and if you slowed they would attempt a run into space. If you timed your pass correctly then you could thread a ball through to them as they sprinted on.

In PES3 they just stop running and you overtake them, I don't even use sprint now as I know I'll leave them behind. But I *still* leave them behind. Breaks tend to die as my players can't be arsed to make the effort!

Hmmm.

guys, use tactics to help this problem

i always set up 2 of my tactics buttons to be formation A and formation B

i then arrange formation A to move my players into very attacking positions (ie. 8 players in the opposition half, 4 in the penalty box)

so whenever i win possession of the ball, i quickly press the tactic button which I assigned for formation A and my whole team surges forward

i setup formation B to be ultra defensive (ie 9 of my players in my own half)

so, whenever I lose possession of the ball, I quickly press the tactic button assigned to formation B and my entire team quickly gets back to defend

also, don't forget to use the individual player setting to have forward arrows when you are attacking and they will then be more likely to make runs at the right moment

yea you have to use tactics, but sometimes you just cant prevent that the ai sometimes make wrong runs. So a button to send a player to run would be nice in the next edition.

But that would be unrealistic because the magic of football is that irl you don't know what your teammate's gonna do (unlike FIFA's OTB).. Otherwise, it'd be called AMERICAN football

Pronewbie. Did you really just say that? I mean irl your teamates see you with the ball and then will move for you. Thats teamwork. They won't stand still or make the wrong runs. Thats unrealistic. Telling a player to move is the equivilant of shaping up and looking for a pass irl

edit: Thanks for the tip culo. mucho helpful
