I read an interesting but strange thing about keepers.
They collected data from 1748 not saved and 7586 saves.
More than enough to analyze in other words.
1-2 @ keeping they didnt have enough data to analyze.
Maybe this will be fixed after this season they gotta do something. I read this @ larsp:s site (creator of managervalues)

0 @ keeping: 76%
3 @ keeping: 73%
4 @ keeping: 80%
5 @ keeping: 80%
6 @ keeping: 82%
7 @ keeping: 82%
8 @ keeping: 82%
9 @ keeping: 84%
10 @ keeping: 82%

teams with better keepers probably play against teams with better strikers (more often anyway) so it's hardly a fair test

also take into account that some of those keepers could have been in difficults situations. Cos you have a 10 ball keeper, doesnt mean you will save every shot, t depends on the strikers and the way your defence let the opposition through.

The form would have to have been the same in each match and it changes throughout the week. Not much of a difference but it could have added-on or taken-away a few percentage.

No offence to larsp, but I don't like his research, basically what Steve said, and Ponte, I didn't even see a mention of the keepers' form level. :S

Basically a lot of people see passing as a bit useless now because of his last one, now some people will believe that a 0 ball keeper plays better than a 3 ball keeper against the same quality team, which is not gonna happen. :p

These statistics are horribly flawed. To be accurate, every keeper tested would have to have the same form for every match played. In addition their teams would have to be playing the exact same tactics with players of the exact same abilities (worse defenders=more breakaways), and be opposing teams that have the exact same tactics as each other and have players of all equal playing abilities. When my keeper for one of my reserve squads was injured for a few games, I put a 0 ball keeper in, and he only gave up one goal in 12 shots. Does this mean he is a better keeper than my 'A' group? NO. It could just mean he was facing a crappy team (which he was...)

Agree with chrisdevos, but there must also be some randomness factor, or two matches with the same players and tactics would end with the same scoreline, right?

Not if the keepers have different abilities. They would have the same number and type of shots, but we would be able to measure the difference of ball of keeping makes this way. If we put ever keeper in the same situation, we would be able to get an accurate enough save percentage to straight up compare the two, without worrying about lurking variables. You've got to give every subject the same treatment to get accurate results.

I've just played my 9 ball striker in goal for a friendly against Ramerpool. He only has 1 ball in keeping. He let 4 goals in, but that was due to my youth team being crap.

If you watch the game he lets a couple of daft goals in but he saves loaTherefore I thing the goalkeeping part of MZ is a bit dodgy:fool:

I scored two in at Dion Harris from 12 shots on target so that kinda of adds weight to that, lol ie. my strikers are **** ;)
