i am playing a match and suddenly, the game goes back to the menu, and when i resume the game, my microsoft sidewinder pad (old one, not usb) has disappeared, is not recognized anymore and i have to quit the game (or play with the keyboard...)

there are no solutions. EA released an official statement stating that they know of the bug and that they have no solution.

damnt. i have the same controller and the SAME problem happens. im playing, then all of a sudden my controller doesnt work.

i have the ms sidewinder gamed that connects to the gameport. this controller worked with fifa03 and works with madden04. why all of a sudden doesnt it work it fifa04? the MS sidewinder gamepad has sold more than any other gamepad around. its annoying that it doesnt work.

damnit! i just ran into this problem. Quit the game to go have a shower, come back to play and the damn controller doesnt work anymore!

the solution is uninstall that goddamn ******* games and choose a soccer game done by real programmers and not faggy idiot dumb ea programmers.

my problem was solved once i hooked up the USB adapter to it. Been working fine since, aside from its ****ty control pad... I really cant stand this inprecise piece... need playstation controller or something

Is this problem exlcusive to the older version of Sidewinder, or does it screw up with the new one too?

also, what are some other good controllers that i should get to replace this one. it is very old. i have had it for about 6/7 years now
