View Full Version : ITALIA 2-0 PORTUGAL (THE FACTS)

Del Piero - Zidane

Alright these are the facts
-Italy played a 3-4-1-2 Formation!!
-Players of the Game: Zambrotta - Fiore - Nesta - Pessotto - Toldo
-Iuliano scored not Inzaghi!!!!!
"La Palla No Ha Superato La Linea" - Gianni Cerqueti who was not commentating but was a journalist
-It took 3 Juventine to score the 1st goal except for Totti who passed it to Zambrotta
-Portugal's biggest mistake: Substituting Rui Costa.....
With the Defense that Italy has Italy can let up the least goals in Euro2000 but 1 thing.... The give up too fast(like while they were showing the replay to the 1st goal Nesta had to clear the ball on the line) They gotta start pressuring more and clear the ball not passing it to the middle and giving it up as soon as they can get posession... But Fiore and Totti worked well together and kept Italy's lead.... If Juve can do those things they can surely win the Euro 2000
Forza ITALIA... ITALIA... ITALIA

Forza JUVE... JUVE... JUVE!!!

Hey Man!!!
You're facts are right and Portugal's biggest mistake was substituting Rui Costa, but....
I believe Portugal played a better game than Italy...

Zambrotta

In the 1st half Italy was better, in the final minutes Portugal dominated. Overall I think Italy's win is o.k.

Despite the "unjust" scoreline I think it was a small victory for Portugal, we played exellent against Italy away from home. If only Conceicao had scored in the 9th minute, but if you don't take your chances then you don't deserve to win, simple as that. Now all that's left for Portugal to do is concentrate on the next match against Wales, then it's off to Euro 2000 and showing England that we can play football too.

Del Piero - Zidane
27-04-2000, 02:23:AM
Nah in the 1st half Italy played much better but Zambrotta had to save Conceicao's shot with his back in the 1st half.... Toldo had a really good game... He should be their starter not Buffon.... Italy deserved their win.... Portugal had their really good chances which should of scored on but they didnt.... Italy had good chances too so how can u say that Portugal deserved to win with their chances? Italy had just as many good chances with Inzaghi so they deserved to win and they did
Juve Juve Juve!!!
ITALIA ITALIA ITALIA!!!

yet again, i don't think fiore showed the form we know he can produce....ive said it before and ill say it again, he's a good player, but Italy have other, more creative players to play in the role behind the front two

Zambrotta This is funny!!

Actually DelPiero-Zidane whining sounds a lot like Inzaghi's whining that it was his goal!

Piero I do back you up though. From what I heard it was more Iuliano(I havent seen it), but AP I think did report it for Inzaghi(I read that on Yahoo).
It has to make you wonder what kind of character this Inzaghi is. He seems to be the biggest a-hole in the world, I wonder if anyone likes him even his brother...

Zambrotta, it doesnt have to be a midfielder, it could be someone like Del Piero (before u say anything, i know he was injured so thats why he wasnt playing) or even Zola....they are both good at creating opportunities for themselves and for others...... its just a shame that people associated with the national team seem to have forgotten the abilities of Gianfranco Zola.......i guess thats what a move out of Italy does for your national team chances

p.s if u were watching the coverage, u have to admit that SOME of Fiore's passing wasnt what you would call top quality....he played better in the second half but i think he was controlled by the Portugal defenders too much for the role he was meant to be playing.....most of his final crosses into the box were below average too

p.p.s italy still has problems defending in the air....Joao Pinto should have scored when he had that free header....that was how italy conceded the goals against spain too.....this has to be worked out before Euro, because if italy plays a team with strong players, they will be punished

Haha .... I didnt wanna go down like that so I had to insist that Iuliano scored and I was right wasnt I... Inzaghi is a ****head for going crazy when he didnt score... He keeps robbing Del Piero of goals in the serie A, he robbed Kovacevic of an open shot on net against Milan when they lost... and Del Piero's free-kick that was going in against Piacenza but Inzaghi touched it before it went in... As I recall against Venezia when Juve won 4-0 Inzaghi had to chances to give Del Piero a pass that would of been an open netter for Alex but he is very selfish

Hey can anyone back me up here? You see the Rai web site that I copied and pasted!! Damn Gianni Cerqueti after the game said the ball didnt go over the line when Inzaghi shot it... The defender was about to clear it out and Iuliano got to the ball before him and scored.... Look for yourself at the rai web site
Juve! Juve! JUVE!!! Look another one I copied and pasted off the web site but ur still insisting!!! Shut up Iuliano scored read it for urself ****head

Sull'assist di Zambrotta c'e' la deviazione di Inzaghi, ma l'ultimo tocco e' di Juliano, alla prima rete in maglia azzurra.
U see that right there? u know how to read Italian?!!! Then shut up ****kkkk Iuliano touched it last it was his goal

It is bad when I see three dorks at the same time, so the winner is: Del Piero - Zidane. The goal was scored by Iuliano. Paolo Rossi, what the **** do you smoke.
O.k., juvegoose, name me this more creative midfielder. Just one name. It MAY be that Pirlo or Totti could produce better, but not in a 3-5-2 system, and this is the best system in the world, almost all good teams play it.

Zambrotta

I hate Superpippa, becuase he has zero skills, but is the most arrognat prick out there. After he was benched by Ancelotti he said he wanted to leave...great team spirit.
Did you see him in the 1st half? Juvegoose, maybe that's why you say Fiore had so many bad passes, he simply passed the ball to often to Inzaghi...
Quite honestly, I think Fiore played a 1st half of 7,5 and a second of 6,5. Sure he was not perfect, but without Totti he had ALL the responsibility. Did you hear Zoff? At any moment any player (except maybe Zambrotta) got the ball, he shouted to pass it to Fiore. He knows, and you should know to, as Fiore seems to be the best offensive midfielder since a young Giuseppe Giannini.

Del Piero - Zidane
28-04-2000, 07:43:PM
Yeah ur right I think Fiore did play better in the 1st half than the 2nd half.... Zambrotta did awesome... I was always watching him play on Bari and as soon as I found out Juve already had signed him up for the next season I knew that was a smart thing to do cause Zambrotta is Juve's and Italy's future.. Only 23 yrs. old... I hope he starts at Euro2000.... Inzaghi is a **** but him and Kovacevic are Juves only chances of scoring cause all Del Piero does is set up plays so... Lets hope "superpippa" starts finding the back of the net much more often

Juve Juve Juve!!!
