No he doesn't. Owen still hasn't reached his potential and he is Liverpool's and England's saviour. :)

i would have rooney, because he can create for himself, but he still doesnt come near my list of top 20 attackers id want in my team

At the moment Owen. I don't think he's all that special anyways. Rooney we will have to see how he improves, maybe he'll pair Owen at 2004?

i agree rooney is overrated
i would take owen just for his experience and i think maybe he can break out at the euro. But having rooney and owen is always great.(H)

owen.

not just the experience factor. but he's proved himself for years now. he's only 23 and is not even close to fulfilling his potential and is still improving.

Rooney is a bit Overrated but he is still very good when a 16 year old controls the ball runs at the defense and buts the ball into the top corner from 30 yards pasts Englands No1 at that time he cant be to bad

i definitely agree that owen's record speaks for himself.

but as for rooney's goal count, it's not really a fair comparison. he just turned 16 and is a part time starter for everton and has only played in a handful of matches for england.

try ask that question to mr David Moyes on rooney's goal scoring record...

Rooney is older then 16... he was 16 for like a week after he scored that first goal on Seamen then he turned 17 .. I believe he will be 18 before too long? Maybe 3 or 4 months .. of course I could be wrong.

Regardless, I'd take Owen, he's just done more to prove himself and has the experience. Rooney may have more potential, but its gonna be a long time before that can truly be decided.

you're right. rooney just turned 18. but still, he might have loads of potential, but it's not like owen's anywhere near his prime.
