I had nothing to do so I decided to put myself at his place and make the deals for the 2005 Juventus roster.

Current

Gianluigi Buffon
Ciro Ferrara
Alessio Tacchinardi
Paolo Montero
Igor Tudor
Salvatore Fresi
Gianluca Pessotto
Antonio Conte
Fabrizio Miccoli
Alessandro Del Piero
Pavel Nedved
Antonio Chimenti
Mark Iuliano
Enzo Maresca
Alessandro Birindelli
Mauro Camoranesi
David Trezeguet
Stephen Appiah
Gianluca Zambrotta
Marco Di Vaio
Lilian Thuram
Antonio Mirante
Nicola Legrottaglie
Ruben Olivera
Marcelo Zalayeta
Edgar Davids

NEW

Gianluigi Buffon
Philppe Mexès (AJ Auxerre)
Alessio Tacchinardi
Paolo Montero
Igor Tudor
Lucio (Bayer Leverkusen)
Gabriel Heinze (PSG)
Davide Baiocco (Reggina)
Fabrizio Miccoli
Alessandro Del Piero
Pavel Nedved
Antonio Chimenti
Mark Iuliano
Enzo Maresca

I'd buy Fernando Cavenaghi of River Plate and loan him to Reggina or another lower ranked Serie A team.

I'd let him play all the Coppa Italia games this year and loan him to Parma(example) for the 2004-2005 season.

Add in Matteo Ferrari there - We're getting him in January.

Ferrari, Lucio, Legrottaglie, Zambrotta - thats a good defense right there.

and Davide Baiocco ?!?! No way.... hes useless...

Cavenagi is too good to loan out anywhere.

That would be great if we could have Ferrari. I put Baiocco in because we need people to warm the bench;) . He's not going to create problems of wanting to be a starter.

I am more worried about this year. The defense is not good when you look at Milan and Roma. Legro has been good but his partner....crap. Montero is sloppy and will cost us. Iluiano I dont trust. Ferrera is still great but not fast enough for top class sides any more.

On another forum we are discussing a move to 3 man central defense, but then who will play right wing back if Turam plays more central.

-------------Buffon
----Thuram Legro Tudor-----
???---------------------------Zam
---- Tacch---Nedved---Maresca
----------Trez------DP

Birindelli is too unpredictable but I think he can still do the job. Pessoto is past it unfortunately.

Camoranesi, Miccoli or Di Vaio (if you put Zambrotta on the right and Marco on the left)

or in December buy Bonera, Oddo, Hinkle, Zaccardo or Ze Maria.

Heinze was a major flop in the portuguese league he'd never succeed in Italy.

yeah cavenaghi its a great player but i dont know how lippi could have di vaio miccoli and cavenachi in the bench at the same time :(
thats too much class in that bench and sooner or later one of them wont like the situation.

and baiocco? yes, he was useless in the 01-02 season, he deserves his spot in reggina cuz its a small team, but he wont do good in juve.

gettin ferrari in january will be so good, since the defence its falling to pieces :(
