View Full Version : JJ's Kit Thread *NO REQUESTS*
Maxinator 29-07-2004, 05:13:PM And the 1000th post is mine!
Why don't you do Instead of a up-to-date 04-05 patch, why don't you just release a kit patch (ala Spark). Lets face it, realistically, on your own you can't do a better superpatch than a bigger team like WEndetta without hiring a team of people, but a super kit patch would be the best. Besides there are plenty of Super 04-05 patchs out there.
But I would keep the 70-71 one, because its unique and nobody else is doing it.
Thats just my opinion, and I'm probably wrong, but I thought I'd share it with you
PeeJay2K2 29-07-2004, 10:57:PM Maxinator, who says we need a whole team of people for a decent superpatch? With JJ doing kits, Phil doing faces (he's already done Rio Ferdinand) and me doing boots and option files, what more could you need?
You doing boots? Or taking them from others? ;) Great effort, uhuh. :D
PeeJay2K2 29-07-2004, 11:04:PM Ok, let me rephrase... I'm doing bootpacks, not boots
Maxinator 29-07-2004, 11:28:PM Well, its just looking at teams like WEndetta have 20 or so people, and have all kinds of stuff on them. Fair play to you guys for doing the patch, but to add all the bits and pieces you might want to add more people..
If you need any help with any rosters Peejay though, I'd be happy to help out. I like this project, and I hope it goes far, but it looks like for all the extra things you should get more people

PeeJay2K2 29-07-2004, 11:41:PM Maxinator, thanks for the offer for some help, but I think the only help I'll really need is stats & appearance for players not already in the game. Thanks anyway...
Maxinator 29-07-2004, 11:51:PM Okay, just contact me if you need anything
PeeJay2K2 29-07-2004, 11:53:PM We could probably do with a separate thread for the patch...
Dazfeeder 30-07-2004, 01:03:AM JJ ave you got charlton, chelsea home and away, newcastle,middlesborough,fulham keeper home,birmingham, kits mate. this aint a request just wondering if you already had them bossman?
:: JJ :: 30-07-2004, 01:10:AM Charlton - yes
Chelski - yes but not done the new away
Newcastle - yes
Middlesbrough - no
Fulham home keeper - yes
Birmingham - no
Dazfeeder 30-07-2004, 02:02:AM cool mate. can you post them when you get a chance please mate
:D
Colin 30-07-2004, 07:34:PM Yeah, give JJ and the team some time to do things, but it will be fun to see the 70-71 teams wearing the dap's texture shirts tho.
:D
Still, such patches are great for fans.
As for your site coming online, JJ, wish you well for it all. I am sure it will be as great as expected. I look forward to it anyway, along with the Welsh lager for the opening! Hope Hans has his kits there too, he deserves to be a part of the gang.

Mayor 31-07-2004, 10:49:PM JJ do you have me on your ignore list or smth?:confused:
I saw you posted ingame screen Barca Home kit at first page, I typed Barca/Barcelona Home in search but it found only that screen
I guess if you posted ingame screen it means you made that kit then, so it's not a request but just question could you post this already made kit here (you use to write name of club/kit when you attach kit image so I guess if you posted it I would find it)
I hope you don't see each question as request ;)
Footboy 31-07-2004, 11:58:PM Very nice JJ I havenīt really done a request, since I knew you have done the kepper home it wouldnīt cost much for you to do the away though....
Thought you had had it on your pc !
Sorry anyway
Fumbler 01-08-2004, 01:40:PM Can somebody please carefully explain (step by step) the process of converting these pics into the game?
I've tried figuring this out on my own, which i'm usually pretty good at doing, but i've had no luck so far. Here's what i'm doing. Please correct me where i'm going wrong if possible:
- I save the picture as a .bmp.
- I open WE PES Graphic Studio
- From the Studio i use File, Open...and then i open the .bmp that i saved
- Then, i use File, Open...and then i open the data_e.afs file from my WE7I directory.
- After that, i use the tree view in the Studio to find the uniform .bin that i want to replace.
- Next, i drag my .bmp onto the uniform.bin that i want to replace. I see the updated results and everything looks good.
- I go into the game to see the changes, but the uniform is now invisible. All you see is the lower portion of the guys arms and legs...the rest is just invisible "space". :crazyboy:
Where the heck am i going wrong here? Thanks for any help you can provide this newb!
Love the kits JJ, keep up the good work!!
Maxinator 01-08-2004, 02:57:PM Set transparency as Opaque.

Sorry anyway Sorry for going mad at you earlier on, I usually get angry whenever someone posts a request in my thread :D
No hard feelings.
The white keeper kit is done, I posted it a few pages ago, but incase you can't find it, here it is again...
Francisluk 01-08-2004, 03:53:PM Just in case if you would like to update the premier league badge, here's the one for the coming season :p
Francisluk 01-08-2004, 03:55:PM and this one is for last season's champion :D

Thanks Max!
One last question though. I just installed the dark blue Chelsea away kit over top of the white away kit. But now you can't see the names and numbers on the backs of the jerseys because the numbering and lettering is black still. What's the fix for this, if any?
:: JJ :: 01-08-2004, 04:30:PM Use Waterloo's tool, or WEditor, find Chelsea and change the colours of the away kit numbers from black to white.
:: JJ :: 01-08-2004, 06:03:PM I've already got the logos off Subside, Francis... I'll sort them out in a bit...
Here's the updated Arsenal GK - albeit with old Champs logos. I noticed in a recent friendly that they were dark grey shorts, like with the Portugal keeper kit.
:: JJ :: 01-08-2004, 06:09:PM AC Milan keeper kit, in what looks like light gold, or "champagne" colour... if you prefer (H)
:: JJ :: 01-08-2004, 06:25:PM Talking of the 70/71 patch, here's a few kits from 34 years ago, using DAP's textures :)
Arsenal home
:: JJ :: 01-08-2004, 06:28:PM Man Yoo home 70/71, from the days when they wore red socks and won absolutely jack **** :D
Note that there's no badge on the shirt, because in those days, many clubs wore plain jerseys, and only wore the badge in cup final matches.
:: JJ :: 01-08-2004, 06:30:PM Liverpool home 70/71
:: JJ :: 01-08-2004, 06:32:PM Ignore the transparency bit on the captains armband - in those days the captain only wore an armband in European competition, but when I made it transparent, the captain in-game had a chunk of his arm missing (H)
It will be fixed for the 70/71 patch though :)
Here's Spurs home 70/71
:: JJ :: 01-08-2004, 06:35:PM I think DAP's textures fit these classic jerseys well, back in them days the shirts were made out of cotton instead of today's polyester and all this new fabric stuff they got now... It makes them look more "heavyweight".
West Ham home kit 70/71 - normally there wasn't a badge but for cup finals and such, the badge was a shield with the hammers.
:: JJ :: 01-08-2004, 06:39:PM Man City home 70/71
:: JJ :: 01-08-2004, 06:47:PM Wolves home 70/71
:: JJ :: 01-08-2004, 06:48:PM Burnley home 70/71
:: JJ :: 01-08-2004, 06:51:PM Crystal Palace home kit 70/71 - in those days they used to wear claret and blue, rather than red and blue stripes.
:: JJ :: 01-08-2004, 06:52:PM West Brom home kit 70/71...
I'm going through all the First Division teams from that season :)
:: JJ :: 01-08-2004, 06:54:PM Stoke City home 70/71
:: JJ :: 01-08-2004, 06:55:PM Southampton home 70/71
:: JJ :: 01-08-2004, 06:57:PM Newcastle home 70/71
:: JJ :: 01-08-2004, 06:59:PM Leeds home kit 70/71 - I've even attempted to mimick the number tags on the socks with the two blue rectangles (H)
:: JJ :: 01-08-2004, 07:00:PM Huddersfield Town home kit 70/71 - aye they were in the top flight back then
:: JJ :: 01-08-2004, 07:02:PM Blackpool home kit 70/71
:: JJ :: 01-08-2004, 07:03:PM Nottingham Forest home kit 70/71
:: JJ :: 01-08-2004, 07:05:PM Everton home kit 70/71
:: JJ :: 01-08-2004, 07:06:PM Derby County home kit 70/71
:: JJ :: 01-08-2004, 07:08:PM Coventry City home kit 70/71... that should be all of the First Division teams' home kits now ;)
:: JJ :: 01-08-2004, 07:11:PM Actually no, I missed out a team who were in the First Division in 1970/71... that was indeed, Ipswich Town! Here's their home kit...
:: JJ :: 01-08-2004, 07:14:PM Arsenal away kit 70/71
Incase you're wondering, the away kit that Arsenal wore in the 1971 FA Cup final, when they achieved the double, was slightly different - the collar and cuffs were in blue to match the shorts. I will make that kit soon...
:: JJ :: 01-08-2004, 07:15:PM Blackpool away kit 70/71

:: JJ :: 01-08-2004, 07:26:PM Chelsea away kit 70/71
:: JJ :: 01-08-2004, 07:27:PM Chelsea alternate home kit 70/71 - they used to wear this kit away from home against teams that wore white socks, such as Leeds, Stoke, Tottenham...
Basically the home jersey with yellow logo and numbers, and the shorts and socks from the away kit.
:: JJ :: 01-08-2004, 07:29:PM Coventry away kit 70/71 - the green and black stripes, years before the ugliest away kit ever (10 points to whoever remembers it...) :D
:: JJ :: 01-08-2004, 07:30:PM Derby County away kit 70/71

JJ Can you please help me out with my problem: http://www.soccergaming.tv/showthread.php?s=&threadid=107732
Do you use photoshop? If so, do you save the kits in a certain way so they don't show up invisible in the game, or do you use a 3rd party tool? If so , which one?
Thanks in advance.
:: JJ :: 05-08-2004, 02:53:PM I use Paint Shop Pro for making kits, but I export them to Photoshop to decrease the colour depth to 256 colours (cos PSP's colour reduction tool is crap), and back to PSP again to save as a 256 colour bitmap.
I then import it using WEPictureDecoder, press F1, F2 and F3 to show the palette, transparency palette and the transparency map. Click on "Set Opaque", then save.
One annoying bug with WEPictureDecoder is that if you save to an existing file, instead of calling it, say, uni03pb.bin, it changes to uni03pb.bin.new, so when saving, click on the filename it will save to (or retype the filename, I find that works), and it will overwrite.

Ok. it's your choice and I respect it.
But I must say, it's so sad to know it.
PeeJay2K2 08-08-2004, 09:16:PM Sorry to report, boys, but JJ's decided not to post on $G ever again. What with all the anti-Welsh sentiment in this God-forsaken forum, he has decided to leave here permanently and take his kit-making elsewhere (like his own site which should be returning soon)
See ya!
Are you his spokesman? Why doesn't JJ answer himself?
PeeJay2K2 09-08-2004, 12:53:AM To be frank, yes, I am... And he doesn't answer himself because he's left this forum for good...
Mayor 09-08-2004, 06:02:AM I hope someone saved his work from this thread coz I remember we have lost all attachements time ago, so if we would lost them again it would be real pity for community
I saved about 20 kits I like the most, if someone saved smth else would be nice
in my last words to him I'd like to say your kits were far beter than Kel's ones :mrpimp:
hehe nah, just kiddin' Kel ;)
I had silent hope you'll make somewhen new Wisła Kraków kits but I've never said it due to *no request* rule...then I thought when Wisła will beat Madrid in IIIrd round CL qualifications they wil be enough fameous to start makin' their kits maybe
well, keep it real JJ (Y) :rockman: :ewan:
if anyone wants to put here his comment let he'll do this now* or shut up forever
*- I think 2 days and I'll close it for good
well JJ is a legend...
thats all i can say
Binho Capelao 09-08-2004, 10:19:AM PeeJay, since you are JJ's "spokesman", when JJ start to post his kits on other foruns or when his site comes back let us know OK?
And yes FF7 he is a legend.
Yo Peejay if JJ told ya when or where will his site be, tell me OK ? No, no I mean tell us . . .
Thanks a lot JJ, you made my **** ( PES ) looks way lot better :rockman:
Hopefully I can upgrade my PC and maybe someday in the future I can make PES kits.
PeeJay2K2 09-08-2004, 05:20:PM There's not really that much I can tell you guys at the moment, other than that there will be a site in the near future and that, for the time being, it will be a PES/WE-only site... I myself would welcome a CM/FM section, but it's JJ's decision as to what goes into the site...
Regarding the kits JJ posted in this thread, you would all be better off waiting until the site gets up and running... It's been said a couple of times in here, but I'll say it again: the GIF compression that JJ uses to post his kits distorts the colours a little bit so they don't look as good as if you downloaded the BMPs or BINs...
Anyways, I'll let you all know when the site comes back, and I'll pass your kind words on to the Grandmasta himself...
See ya!

::..Federico Debla..:: 10-08-2004, 12:13:AM Sorry to hear about that. JJ is a big name in these boards, so I think everyone's gonna miss him.

Don't worry, either he'll be back in some days like last time when he said he won't post here anymore or finaly will get his site up. So where's the problem?
And jim, you're simply great, although I wonder why you're bothering about that might junky who knows everything better. He doesn't want your crappy kits. ;)

biker_jim_uk 10-08-2004, 01:01:AM fair point old pal!
started working yet?
Mayor 10-08-2004, 01:02:AM nobody makes so lookin' kits ("mock" ?)
http://img38.exs.cx/img38/2522/nicepumaballpics_19.jpg
just go to http://pespc-files.soccergaming.com/kits.php?lang=en&cat=club&page=view&id_team=13 and compare it to JJ Madrid kits.. it looks totally different and I like it more (these "dirty" socks, shadows on the kits etc.); avarage kits are pure and clean and looks 'sterile'
eg. Real Home by Spark:

Real Home by kEL

Real Home by JJ:
http://img53.exs.cx/img53/3135/realmadrid_1.gif
can you see the difference?
I have "normal" Wisła kits, I wanted "JJ style" Wisła kits
but nevermind, what's wrong with that I prefer one kits maker more than another? is that bad? do I love your work the same? I have my own kit taste and whatever :crazyboy: (H) :mrpimp:
I like you all pals, really (H) :brow:
biker_jim_uk 10-08-2004, 01:04:AM all you do is add another multiply layer, I could make any of my kits look like that in 5 mins, he ain't no miracle man.
biker_jim_uk 10-08-2004, 01:08:AM :p
Nothing wrong, you have your own opinion and taste and it's okay. Did I say the opposite? No, I've just warned jim that it's not worth offering his help for you as you won't appreciate a jim or non-JJ kit. That's all.
biker_jim_uk 10-08-2004, 01:19:AM I was wrong too, it took 4 mins :p
kEL
I passed him my previous Legia kit and he didn't have time to test it, despite being so desperate, but like you say I ain't JJ.

I don't have to call it "JJ effect" but "multiply layer" effect now ;-)
so why don't you do that from the beginning? it looks much more natural than without it though :confused:
PS. Legia is for Wisła identically the same what Real is for Barca, Legia kits are always crappy, I don't need them! :D when I'll find Jim's kits thread I'll post you some Wisła kits images
PPS. wrong collar :P
biker_jim_uk 10-08-2004, 02:04:AM 1,. I don't like the effect
2. I sent you the kits before, and I don't have a thread anymore
3. they are based on last years

If that is so, then the kits certainly do look much better graphically than the default or non-"multiplied" type tho. Totally.
As for your "miracle man" statement, Jim, the same could be said of you too. Right? Totally unnecessary, fella. Any kitmaker (or graphics interested person) should appreciate any attempts made by ppl of subjects, improvements or not to the subject matter.
It can be seen that sarcasm is your forte, Jim, not kits. :p

No problemo, laddie. It's just made me laugh at the expression of "hurl", so I tried to lighten the moment of impact of the word "hurl". :D
If the original post made you feel like throwing up, then so be it.
That should be the end of the matter then.
I am not trying to offend you, btw, but it made me think you were a little upset. :D

Are you the Colin who also used to work for CS for JJ? I believed we've chatted a few times on ICQ?

the kit was sent to Mayor, not JJ and I wanted another viewpoint. prefeably from someone who sees the kit and could compare it to the ones in the Polish patch.
As to your previous point, I was saying that many editors can do this effect, it wasn't some magic trick of JJs, and then I proved it; however as you say different people like different things, some like purple Madrid kits for eg, and you are more than entitled to think my kits are rubbish, no one is forcing you to use them

(1) Yep. And keeping well, are you? :)
(2) Many ppl don't like certain other countries (it's been ongoing for centuries in many places), but sometimes things can be a bit overdone from ppl who have a dislike/hatred of other countries, don't worry. Problem is trying to eradicate that sort of sentiment as much as possible.

Mayor 11-08-2004, 03:31:PM I saw a sig with Walsh flag = :sb9: , it should be prohibited coz it can be took as an offense to the whole nation; more sigs like that, more stupid posts w/o reaction and whoops? we have anti-welsh board :kader:

Binho Capelao 11-08-2004, 07:51:PM You could close the thread Mayor, because when the JJ's site comes back (wich I think is not going to happen) PeeJay could open another thread to tell us.
