2 defeats in 4 days doesn't make me feel good :(, we must win this match after losing to chelsea last week, I am hoping Scholes will be fit, not sure though. ;)

Man Utd 3-0 Aston Villa

Giggs
Scholes
Forlan

Enough said.

Yeah, a win is a must if we are going to keep pace with the other two. You would think this game won't be too difficult for United to get a victory, but Villa held us to a draw last year and had it not been for Diego's late header we would have lost that match. Villa don't really offer much in terms of midfield creativity, but their strikers are fairly good. If Angel and Vassell are on form, they could cause some problems for our defence, but United should win this if they decide to play a more attacking brand of football and get at Villa from the outset.

United are going to kick the living **** out of Villa, No other way to put it. When United lose 2 games in 4 days, they hit back hard.

5-1 to United.
Ruud 4x

Angles a gun, wouldnt be surprised if he moved to a team with better service during January....

Rob

Angel is a very good player, but when watching him againist Chelsea earlyer this year and a few other games, I found he is very wastefull infront of goal.

If he can get that part of his game better and take more of his chances, more often, he will rip defences apart.

Knowing how hopeless it has been for the Villa so far this year, another loss is all but expected. But then again, ManYoo are going thru a rough patch (losing to Chelsea at the weekend, then being bounced out of the League Cup by West Brom), so anything could happen. I am hoping that we get at least a draw, just like last season, but the XI that O'Leary chooses has to turn out their best performance of the year to have a chance at a win.

My heart says that Villa win 1:0, but my head says that Man U win 2:0.

wouldn't it be great to play heskey, forlan and angel upfront in one team
the 'donkey' strikeforce.
out of the lot forlan is the best .scores crucial goals and also international ones

as for our match.well,i think villa fans should hide beneath their beds before seeing this match.united are gonna thump them although this fixture is famous for 1 or 2 goals at most.
5-0 to united

I remember we had back-to-back defeats in 2001/2002 to Deportivo and some other team(I think it was Bolton - my memory is failing me). I think the last time we had three back-to-back defeats in the Premiership was in 2000/2001, when we lost the last three games of the season, having already won the championship.

Just checking statistic's of the match, wonderful feeling to see Paul Scholes come on in the 59th minute, looks like he'll be ready to go in the Manchester derby next week, and maybe play a half or 2 to work off the rustyness against Stuttgart. :)(Y)

Apparently Fergie is not satisfied, well that will change if we beat Manchester City in 7 days.

I refuse to believe that Brazilian's cannot play in the Premiership.

Edu, Gilberto, Juninho, Kleberson have been great for there respective clubs this term.

I think Kleberson is was a great buy, I had my doubts when he played against Southampton, but he has proved me wrong more than once, superb.

-edit-

Paul Scholes WILL play on Tuesday, aswell as getting 30 minutes today. :rockman:

Welcome back Scholesy, and welcome back United. That first-half performance was pure class. The supporting trio behind Ruud - Giggs, Kleberson and Ronaldo - all had fantastic games, especially Giggs and Kleberson. Those two linked up really well with van Nistelrooy, and Ronaldo once again provided glimpses of his potential. It's also good to see Forlan in amongst the goals so often now, and putting his poor recent performances behind him. A proven striker is still needed, though. We need someone who can perform week in, week out and can be relied on to take some of the scoring pressure off Ruud. Defoe may not be the answer to that problem because he's so young, but perhaps Fergie might have someone else up his sleeve.

Yep, I guess it does count as an assist, punting the ball all the way up the field, and who does it go to? Forlan. (H)

Goals are up(scroll up). :ewan:

Paul Scholes came on in the 2nd half, plus Wes Brown's return is only around the corner(he'll be playing a reserve game sometime this month).

Not to forget my Ole Solskjaer should be back sometime soon.

from this point on, i would rather say that kleberson has done more in his short time tih united than veron, kleberson's assist tells us very much he is a real team player while other players would go for goal, his backheel was one of the most cheekiest things i saw, which result in a goal, two assists, 4 goals, lets say

Welcome the new and improved Veron named Kleberson :D

What a massive boost this would be to the morale of the club.

The new deal would end in 2007, which mean's by that time, he'd be at the helm for almost 21 years, amazing.

Thanks again shokz. Good stuff. (Y)

Well, thanks to Arsenal and Chelsea both drawing, we are once again only 2 points behind. They aren't showing this match until Monday so I wasn't able to watch it. From what you guys have said and from what I read from Match Reports, it sounded like we performed really well today. I can see that from the goals we scored. Kleberson looks like he's the real deal now. What a job he has done as of late. Great to know that Scholes is back in action. We definitely missed IMO. Soon we'll be back to full strength. The one good thing about the start to the season that we have had is that we, at this point, are only two points behind the leader. Historically, we ALWAYS play better during the second half of the season. Things are definitely looking good right now. Here's hoping we beat Citeh next Saturday. :rockman: :rockman:

Yeah, Howard is amazing. When i heard rumours of him going to United, i started watching MetroStars more closely, and couldn't believe how many long balls he was supplying into the opposite penalty box! He could easily become even greater than Schemeichel:rockman: :rockman: :rockman: . Thank You Very Much USA! Now maybe Adu will follow his countryman?:p

BTW Shokz did you make any other highlites of good shots, opportunities or Ronaldo tricks:p ? If not that's ok. Just asking.

Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted he might "do something" in January's transfer window, with a move for Alan Smith or Jermain Defoe on the cards.

The Old Trafford chief admits he is waiting for the winter transfer window to open and has confirmed he is on the lookout for a top striker.

"It's getting someone who hasn't played in Europe and that is something we will probably have to look at," said Ferguson.

"We are looking at some things and maybe we will do something this time.

"We have always been best when we have had four strikers. When we had Sheringham, Solskjaer, Cole and Yorke it was a good period for us because we could freshen up all the time. "

United played down links with Leeds hitman Mark Viduka last week, but Fergie is known to be a long-time admirer of the Aussie's team-mate Smith.

With Leeds in financial crisis at present, January may turn out to be the right time for United to make their move to land a bargain buy.

But they would have to stump up big money if they were to try and prise another reported target - pint-sized striker Defoe - from West Ham.

Ferguson also says he will boost his squad in other ways.

"I have got Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Paul Scholes coming back, Paul will play again next week and Ole will be ready in early January."

Meanwhile, England defender Wes Brown takes his first step towards a full comeback on Tuesday when he plays in the friendly against Bristol City.

Brown has been out since the closing day of last season following cruciate ligament surgery.

Couple of rash challenges later, Fergie will give him one of his specials. Our manager never fails to see an incident;). That'll sort him out:D.

Keane was(and still is) a real firebrand when Fergie signed him, but he helped him channel his aggression to make it more constructive. I think he can do the same with Smith, if we sign him.

But I'd go for a World Class striker(which Smith isn't).

Decent performance by the looks of things, although we're still not at our best as evidenced by the performance in the 2nd half. Ruud with another 2, well taken, goals and then Diego with 1 screamer and another, both in the last minutes of the game to add the gloss.

Kleberson looked good again, and I've been saying, since his return from injury, that he has impressed me more than Veron ever did. It's the way that he does not need to take any extra touches, which helps open gaps on the pitch, that has impressed me most. Then his distribution is top-rate as well. He seems suited to the English game. His back-heel that lead to the 4th mind... :D

Another clean sheet for Howard and the United defense though, although Villa were hardly a test in that respect.

Good to see Scholes back as well. All we need now is for Wes Brown and Solskjaer back. Not sure if we need another top-class striker at the half-way point of the season. Okay, we lack back-up for Van Nistelrooy at the moment, but when Ole comes back I think he's more than adequate support for Ruud. Along with the in-form Diego as well...

Good to see Diego dropping back a bit. I figure that if he wants to play alongside Ruud then he'll need to play behind him and get into the positions where he can strike from the edge of the area. He long-range shooting with both feet has always impressed me.
