Yes. This is what I've been saying all this while. I have absolutely no idea why people still think that FIFA has better graphics, obviously because they have played only 1 or none of the games

Who cares though. PES is light years ahead of FIFA in terms of gameplay, so who gives a toss about the graphics. It's so insignificant when it really comes down to it. Look at everyone who was playing PES2 on the ePSXe emulator over FIFA'03 - that says it all!

If FIFA looked exactly like real life, i still wouldn't be playing it, and neither would anyone who truly appreciates the gameplay of PES.

I find FIFA graphics to be 'messy'. They are kinda blurry and over saturated. PES3 graphics are very clean.

Vieri is a big guy and on fifa he looks like he weighs 7 stone. Like ive said in other forums fifa graphics arent better than pro evo anymore,mainly because of the way the players move in fifa. Also the graphics in fifa are jerky and blurred.

Pro evolutions' graphics are much more detailed, in addition, one can tell by players movements that FIFA's graphics look cheap. FIFA's players movements are not as fluid. Yes, FIFA 2004 even has worse graphics than FIFA 2003 and probably even World Cup 2002. Game Play and Graphics are better on PES3 than FIFA.

pes runs at a much smoother pace.

fifa, some of the faces look much better than pes, ie. Raul. Of course some look worse. PES players seem to have really polygonal heads, you can see each point. :)

animations - PES wins

pitch - PES has more varied textures, but I like FIFA field textures

Nets - PES's is much better

kits - tied since PES is patchable, I do like the fact that FIFA kits get dirty.

stadiums - FIFA because they have licensed stadiums

I can't understand why so many people think the graphics in FIFA are better than PES...

The player models are awful, and the hands are a different colour shade to the arms, making them resemble zombies. The faces aren't as good as 2003, the kits are terrible and blurred, and the stadiums look rough.

Add to that the darkness, and the stuttering frame rate - and I've got a Radeon 9800 Pro on a P4 2.8, which can run PES3 at 1280x1024 without any problems at all.

In that Vieri example... he looks lifelike in PES3, but in FIFA he looks as if he's unwell, and they got his hairstyle wrong!

FIFA just sucks in every way imaginable....I even hate to much hyped soundtrack (maybe one or two tolerable tunes, the rest are sh!t)

Graphics from PES3 don’t come even close to FIFA2004. I am not saying that FIFA2004 much graphically better than FIFA2003, but PES3's graphics are just horrible:kader: It looks like Konami guys stepped back to stone age while making game. PES3 looks retarded, ugly, and extremely disgusting. Maybe some players in FIFA look bad, but in PES3 EVERYONE look ugly, no matter how they looks in real life. Maybe on paper both games have pretty same statistics, but on a screen FIFA2004 much better. My guess is that Jupanese guys cant just make normal human bodies and faces. I disagree, I have only played FIFA 2003 (didn't even bother with this year's...so many bad reviews) the only thing that FIFA seems to have going for it is nice fancy interface. Where PES3 looks exactly like a console that it's just disgusting, no mouse movement, keyboard editing, corny console music. A really ugly import.

Before you showed those screenshots, I probably would have said FIFA had better graphics overall, possibly due to sympathy for FIFA...but now I gotta say no way, it's just awful. The players look like they are wearing Kevlar vests underneath their kits, with their "burned arms". The stadiums and nets are obviously much better in PES3.

Animations in PES3 are way better, nobody can doubt that. Lighting is somewhat better in FIFA, but what good is lighting if everything else is average?

I haven't play fifa 2004 but as i said before the graphics of fifa look very very much painted but not the same with pes.

I think the 2 Vieri screenshots sum it all up perfectly. I've always thought the FIFA players skin was a little 'messy' and blurry'; what I really meant was they all look like burns victims.

Vieri looks as if he's just been released from the burns ward at Milan Hospital. PES3 graphics are much much better than FIFA's cartoons. Models are better,movements, graphics and gameplay by miles...is there really any comparison?

I used to play FIFA, because i prefer the PC to play, let´s just say that i have a console problem... they are somewhat useless...
But now i got my dear PES3, and i must say, if the players like look those in the Spectrum 128K (i know that some of you remember that, the older ones maybe) all the same, no Vieri or Figo, just a body with a ball on the to that's the head, only 8 colors, i still prefer to play PES just because it is soccer and no what Fifa pretends to be (i don't know what's that, pinball maybe but still bad pinball).

Pes3 is just too slow. And i think the gameplay is better if it would run fast, but now it isn't.

to me overall PES graphics are much crisper than FIFAs (you can almost distinguish every visitor in the stadium compared to FIFAs blur) and say what you will: the FIFA players are still too stocky and "on steroids"... it seems EA can't produce any lanky players (such as Henry)....

I want to say that I was an old player of FIFA titles, since FIFA 95, but now I discovered PES3 and I can say that it´s excellent, excellent grafic, gamplay, etc., after playing PES3, FIFA 2004 it´s in now second place. It´s not true that the grafics in FIFA 2004 are better than PES3, here in this thread all people can appreciate that. I excpect that EA SPORTS will improve his FIFA title in the future, in other way will loose all his fanatics that in the moment they play PES3 they never leave it.

If you have a decent graphics cards and play at 1024x768 or above on high detail PES looks very nice.

This years Fifa looks a bit weird on my Xbox, all the players emit a kind of Chernobyl glow.

The thing I don't like about the player modelson PES, is that they all have the same schwartzeniger over developed thigh muscles, and some of the generic faces look a bit weird and boxy.

If PES had the license and some decent leagues there would be no compettion, because PES is way ahead in feel and gameplay, this coming from a Fifa fan just exposed to PES.

they both look the bollocks in 1280x1024 with max details to be honest, although pes3 is a lot smoother than fifa 2004 is.

sometimes fifa can look great although i prefer pes3. the movement is a lot more fluid and realistic and it feels more like football. especially when zoomed out.

IMO FIFA players have the bodies of Roswell aliens. Soccer players on the whole are normally physically fit with a bit of muscle but the FIFA players look like they're auditioning for the catwalk and live on a diet of cotton wool soaked in orange juice!

Also, from any playable camera angle in FIFA you can't tell one player from another (unless one's bald and the other has shoulder length hair). FIFA World Cup 2002 was the only FIFA game where the players looked half decent at a distance. FIFA 2004 doesn't look any better in regards to players on the field to FIFA 2000. The crowds and the stadiums have improved but the player models still move like they did years ago.

Reading through this thread I was wondering why it took so long for somebody to mention this.

I don't know much about the editing process in FIFA or PES, but I've done a bit of 3D programming before in OpenGL, and to my eye the FIFA faces all look like photographed textures painted on, whereas the PES faces look like proper 3D models mapped from scratch.

That would explain why the FIFA heads might often look more instantly recognisable as their real-life counterparts, but the PES heads look more like they belong in the scene and have proper 3D lighting and shading. Also, this makes it easier for Konami to program better animations, eg watch a player's face when writhing around in agony when injured etc.

We all know fifa is a **** game, so why do you all constantly bring it up?? by showing the poor graphics fifa has does it make you feel that you are better because you prefer to play PES? thats the worst thing about PES, the people who play it think they are Gods or something. It is a ******* video game. If fifa sucks so bad, dont talk about it, talk about PES, you dont need to constantly compare it to fifa, everybody posting in here knows that PES is a far better Sim. there is always at least 1 thread dedicated to dissing FIFA on the first page of the PES forum.
