Thats what it says at the Broadcasting & Cable website (http://www.broadcastingcable.com/article/CA339200?display=Breaking+News)...but you have to be a member to read more. But you get the picture.

You can also go to the ESPN Deportes (http://espndeportes.espn.go.com/) website and see their countdown on the right side of the site. ;)

First Day's Programming Schedule:
8:00pm ET - Somos ESPN Deportes
8:39pm ET - Latin American Sportcenter
9:00pm ET - Warriors vs Mavs
11:30pm ET - Latin American Sportscenter

I also read on the ESPN Deportes website that they're going to have a weekly Mexican league soccer show (Y)...I know you guys will watch it week after week. :D

They will primarily broadcast the following...

1) NBA games
2) MLB games
3) NFL games
4) UEFA Champions League matches :brow:
5) Tennis
6) MLS games
7) Mexican league baseball

EDIT: if you know spanish you can read the full story here:

"Smitty (Annapolis, MD): Hi Tommy. I remember the "good old days" when ESPN would carry 2 matches every Champions League gameday. Now I hear that ESPN's Champion League coverage will shift to ESPN Deportes in 2004. Say it ain't so! Will ESPN/ESPN2 continue Champs League coverage into the new year?

Tommy Smyth: Smitty, it ain't so! In fact, with the launch of ESPN Deportes in the US in early 2004 you are going to get the best of both worlds ... ESPN2 will absolutely continue to carry the UEFA Champions League while ESPN Deportes will carry a different live match and Deportes will air up to 8 original games per match week. So jump to it now Smitty! You have the skinny on it .. contact your local cable provider and tell them about ESPN Deportes .. you should probably brush up on your Spanish a little! Also, remember ESPNEWS generally at around 5:10 ET on Wednesday will bring you an international update .. you will not lose any soccer, you will gain more! You just have to look in differnet places for it! "

THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:rockman: :rockman: :rockman:

Nah, they haven't done enough yet, to make up for all their ****ty treatment of soccer in the past. They need to start carrying soccer more often on the regular network (hint: stop showing fishing, strongman contests and poker, and show soccer matches). Then maybe they can have those women. (H)

I'm assuming they're going to show different games than the ones ABC, ESPN 2 and Fox Sports World are showing.

That's also great news about extra Champions League games. I wonder if I'm going to get this network through my cable provider though.

it will be added to the "DirecTV para todos" the spanish package....is this the same ESPN that airs in Latin America? cause if it is, its pretty damn good.....I watched it all summer I was down there, I got to see some pretty awesome games, and they had some classic games too...:rockman:

EDIT: "Fuera de Fuego" is a great discussion table about world soccer....

They say that is this goes through cable bills at 30UDS will do down to about 20-23USD.

I hope this channel is on regular TV, and not some package....

BTW they announced it during halftime during the AC Milan-Celta Vigo match. They gave a preview by reshowing the Celta goal and Tapia giving "color" commentary. They also showed the logo and the announced it would be launched on the 7th of January and that it would show CL matches, but that ESPN 2 would also still show matches as well... I'm so excited:rockman:

That's an excellent show, much better than Fox Sports Noticias and Score Final.

I'm guessing that ESPD will be a dumbed-down version of ESPN LA, like Fox Sports Espaņol is really just a dumbed-down version of Fox Sports LA with a few important tourneys like UEFA Cup and Copa Sudamericana and the rest they just fill in with informecials and sh_tty extreme sport shows.

But at least we're finally getting some decent CL coverage, and with Luis Omar Tapia commentating, it'll be outstanding. Too bad for they're not gonna broadcast Serie A and Spanish La Liga, cause GolTV's not on DirecTV.

ummm, I know for DirecTV you have to have the spanish package, like I said earlier, I know GOL TV you have it in "America's Top 150" in DishNetwork cause the channel transmits in both Spanish/English, but I think ESPND will only be in Spanish....what satellite do you have?

IMO the cable company should drop their crap of putting channels in packages and pre-selected crappy lineups and just charge money for each channel that you want. Some channels like the Gardening Channel, the Catholic Channel, the local channels I just will never watch, so WTH should I pay (Well my parents, but you get the point) for them?? This is a freakin outrage!!!!

exactly! i barely even watch 5 channels out of the 200 channels that's in cable plan :|... the cable companies just throw in all these bull**** channels to make it seem like it's a real good deal but it's really not. if we paid for only the channels we wanted then they wouldn't make as much money so that's why we can't choose our own channels... damn greedy bastards!!!!!
