Cold_Ice 10-12-2003, 02:18:PM 3-1 Moscow Bobby 10-12-2003, 02:32:PM If they attack us, Sol and Kolo should be able to stop them, and Cygan has shut down other teams well. If Ljungberg gets the ball near the box, and the russians have too many men attacking it could be dangerous, him feeding Henry, Pires or Kanu. Watch for Ali to come on, if he has fresh legs, his youthful speed and wonderful shooting will give loko fits. -=F.O.D=- 10-12-2003, 04:28:PM Loko plays other football, than in England. They like to hold the ball on the ground, not in the air, where Sol and Kolo are good... Buznikin, Ashvetia, Izmailov are too fast for Sol Be sure, Loko never, almost never attacks with a big number of players. Let me introduce to you our team... Everyone here knows just Arsenal players As I said earlier, IMO Loko will play 5-3-2. Ovchinnikov - Russian, 33 years, #1. Goalkeeper. Played in Porto, Benfica. Evseev - Russian, 27 years, #16. Fast right defender, likes to go forward. In the last 2 matches in national team against Wales played against Giggs. Made the winning goal. Gives the last pass and scores very often for defender. Sennikov - Russian, 27 years, #17. Fastest universal defender in Loko. Played against Vieri in both matches, against Henry in Moscow match. Pashinin - Russian, 29 years, #14. Center defender. Playing good with the head. Ignashevich - Russian, 24 years, #5. Center defender, also CDM. Very good in tackles, heading. Got amazing power shot. If Arsenal will make foul in the box - Lehmann have no chance. Top scorer in away matches of Russian national team. Lectheto - South Africa, 29 years, #4. Left Defender. As Evseev, likes to go in attack. Very good in tackling. Izmailov - Russian, 21 years, #7. Universal midfielder, also can play as a forward. Got amazing technique, perfect dribbling, nice passing. Before this match he was injured, but I hope today he'll play at least 1 half. Loskov - Russian, 29 years, #10. Central midfielder, team captain. Best player of Loko, playmaker. Perfect passing, shooting. Good in tackling. Best player in russian championship, best striker of this season - 14 in 29 matches. Khokhlov - Russian, 27 years, #28. Central midfielder. Playmaker. Perfect passing, nice power shot, good heading(remember his head-goal in Toldo's net from 20 meters?). Earlier played in Real Sociedad. Maminov - Russian, 28 years, #8. Central midfielder. Good in tackles, good power shot, doing all the untidy work. Ashvetia - Georgia, 25 yaers, #32. Forward. Fast, good ball control, scoring almost all goals from the "2-nd floor" Buznikin - Russian, 26 years, #15. Forward. Fast, good technique, likes curve-shots. Fernandez 10-12-2003, 06:26:PM Originally posted by -=F.O.D=- Evseev - Russian, 27 years, #16. Fast right defender, likes to go forward. Either a Arsenal or a draw here for me, they'll play with their hearts today. VanTheMin 10-12-2003, 11:52:PM ummmmmmmm i don't know how to say this but.GO ARSENAL(for the sake of british reputition) 3-0 to arsenal ogsimon 10-12-2003, 11:55:PM The press in England are billing this as the biggest in Arsenals history, it could make or break the team. The stadium, players everything could be in jeporday Damn talk about pressure:( chatterbox 11-12-2003, 12:48:AM There' s a reason why Lokomotiv is leading the group........they are no pushovers. Arsenal will probably go through but it won' t be easy and if they do win, it will be very very close. Arsenal better not keep one eye on the other game cause they might relax if things appear to going good and could slip up in concentration like what happened to them at Highbury and what happened to Inter at the San Siro! This is not related to this match but for PSV and Deportivo, Why did Deportivo qualified when PSV is better in Goal Differences??.... Fernandez 11-12-2003, 11:37:AM Originally posted by KoreaJjang Can I ask you guys something?? This is not related to this match but for PSV and Deportivo, Why did Deportivo qualified when PSV is better in Goal Differences??.... head-to-head ;) Depor beat PSV 2-0 at home while PSV beat Depor only 3-2, only a 2-0 win or winning by 3 goals would ensure they qualify, thats why we had to beat stuttgart (H) KoreaJjang 11-12-2003, 11:38:AM Bah that's pretty gay... Fernandez 11-12-2003, 11:40:AM Originally posted by KoreaJjang Bah that's pretty gay... if it wasnt for this rule, chelsea would've finish top even if besiktas beat them KoreaJjang 11-12-2003, 11:42:AM I want Goal Difference rule...I think its better!! Fernandez 11-12-2003, 11:43:AM yeah, if chelsea, man u and arsenal finish on the same points, and using the current gd, we will finish top(H) Bobby 11-12-2003, 11:47:AM nah, you still have to go to highbury and play everton twice....you know who plays for everton, right? ;) Bonzi 11-12-2003, 01:20:PM i just want to congratulate Arsenal and Loko, of course:D but i think the game wouldn't be so easy for Arsenal if Leckheto wasn't sent off:D PaPaGeorGeo 11-12-2003, 02:23:PM Go old Franny ogsimon 11-12-2003, 02:35:PM Originally posted by Bonzi i just want to congratulate Arsenal and Loko, of course:D but i think the game wouldn't be so easy for Arsenal if Leckheto wasn't sent off:D In a way i wanted arsenal to beat 11 players, sometimes it can devalue the result if players get sent off. but arsenal were totally dominant anywayz. Arsenal were economical today, i think toure pires and ljungberg were our best players today. Viera gave the ball away and cleary needs some matches, since he has had two consecutive matches and hasnt had 6 consecutive matches since before his injury last season. Henry was greedy today,i know he delivered the final ball for arsenals goals, but other than that he was trying to do to much, and chose the wrong option a lot. on another note, its wierd how milan got through while only scoring 3 goals!!! -=F.O.D=- 11-12-2003, 03:29:PM Loko have no games before Arsenal for two weeks. They can't play combinational football in the first half. Semin said that he wanted to make substitution Lekcheto - Gurenko for the 2nd half. Also Izmailov was injured... So Arsenal is just lucky northstar 11-12-2003, 04:28:PM Originally posted by jigger37 stop being an idiot northstar WTF? how about you f!@# off. You guys seemed oout the CL again, and somehow finished top! That's great for you and for English football. Frostwolf 11-12-2003, 07:35:PM Originally posted by KoreaJjang Bah that's pretty gay... No, it works better. Since each team plays each other twice it's a fair indication of which team deserves to qualify than the other. If there was a really crap team in the group it'd be just a matter of how many goals you'd win by against that team. However goal difference works better for the World Cup and Euro where you play each team once. ugluk 11-12-2003, 11:39:PM in all ways Arsenal deserved that win, I have to admit. Perhaps if lekchetto was still there and was subbed in for gurenko later on it would've been better. but he was suspended, rightfully, too, and I know he blames himself for that loss. Anyway, lekchetto or not, Lokomotiv played pathetic. Everybody knows how well Loko can play if they tried. But think about, our key player injured, our key defender sent off, a huge english (!) stadium with the crowd cheering like hell for Arsenal, 11 months of straight no-breaks playing, lack of games to practice with - Loko was stretched out. I'm not saying Arsenal game got lucky or anything. I'm just saying if Lokomotiv was in top shape for this game, the score could've been easily the other way around. Of course I was dissappointed that Loko lost. But they're still through to the next round and that's much as I wanted... I'm happy |
