Liverpool's injury problems took another turn for the worse today when it was revealed Michael Owen will miss the entire Christmas programme of matches.

The Reds' striker has suffered a setback in his bid to overcome a thigh problem and won't be available for selection again until the new year.

It means Owen will miss this weekend's trip to Wolves as well as the Boxing Day clash against Bolton and the clash with Manchester City on December 28.

French youngster Florent Sinama Pongolle is likely to deputise alongside Emile Heskey in the Reds' attack.

Of the six first team players sidelined against Southampton on Saturday, only Harry Kewell has a chance of being fit for this weekend's clash at Molineux.

s he "injured" or "injured-and-will-not-play-again-until-he-signs-a-new-contract"?

Seems a bit long for a thigh tweak for me?

it should be 'owen out of liverpool'
face it liverpool are fallin' down and they don't seem to be the 4th place contenders neither
owen will have to leave unless liverpool get a new manager to bring back the 70's-80's class act which would make the epl a 5 horse-race if only newcastle would start better
