View Full Version : To See Or Not To See Tactics?

MZ are considering not letting users see tactics on the hockey. As it stands, this is not part of the hockey stats page. I have to say I really like this idea and think it should be considered for the football. It's been fun using trial and error to come up with an original tactic(that works,) for the hockey. If they implemented this for the football, the only way your opponent would be able to see your tactics, would be by scouting your team. But even by watching your match they would not be able to see your exact tactics. I don't want to reopen the super-tactic debate, just wondered what everyone thought of this idea?

what's the point? People would just use live or analyser to see it...

I was thinking the same. Goal kicks show the tactics, and from the analyser you can see what you can't on the tactics page, i.e. short passing, long balls, wings...

Agreed...if they could fix the analyzer or live to not show it (and it would be hard, if not impossible)...

What is the point people will find ways to get around it.

I guess this is something that will work more for hockey than football, in hockey all players start out in the same position, then they move to cover a certain area. Which is going to mean tactics in hockey are going to work a lot better in disguising the formation, with less copycat tactics. Perhaps adding more depth to the tactics in football is the way to go, like players having certain roles in the team, sweeper, defensive midfield etc... It would be nice for one of my midfielders to run up the pitch and try and score, just for a change.

That's what I think Steve. Football needs more doing to it, but that'll probably take ages.

I think it was about 2 weeks ago since my last midfielder scored:o

Heh, I'd love to have attacking fullbacks and a defensive midfielder protecting the defence, let alone midfielders who actually attack...

ive changed my mind about seeing peoples tactics, and i dont think we should be able to see them. If you have a winning tactic, then good for you - you should be able to keep it for yourself without other people nicking it! They should do this as the new simulator comes out.

Wouldn't that just encourage more 4-3-3?

the new sim is disabling the 4-3-3 so to speak...
