Ok I have just brought F2K and found it works on my computer and would like to know if you can enter in a custom team without erasing a team that is already in the game??

You can't. What I do is enable Bonus Teams in the cheat section (see fifa2000.net for cheats) then just edit those as they have no real use in the game.
