what i mean to say is that football was,is and will be the greatest thing in human history.i love it too much.
also i play decent football.but we are having an ongoing tournament(intercollege) and i have been kept on the subs bench for last 5 games and not picked even once.it is not that i play bad but the ones who are playing play crap than me.

i know many of u members play football on diff levels.so how do u make people recognise what talent you have.imo i don't even get a chance to show myself.
or is it that this is the case only in india

you have an attitude problem mate.
I was dropped even though I am the best midfielder on the team, after three games I went to the coach and said what's the problem.
He said your attitude!

I trained harder, stopped quarelling with my teammates when they messed up, and dirtied my ass a bit more with tackles, and I have my armband again.

thanks for a good thought but my case is different.actually i missed a simple tap in during training last sat.just 1 mistake.but i made for it by scoring a brace in practice match and led my team to victory.

but my captain only keeps in mind that 1 stupid mistake.
and we do not have a coach
we play amateur.
but that incident still hurt my feelings

every pro was once an amateur.
thats the only way i can improve and be better

i guess talk to the coach or the captain, ask him whats up? and if you dont get any time, then just find another team to play on. if you want to stay on this team, then just wait until you get some time, then really show off.

Well my friend, its everywhere. You have to be patient. Only eleven guys can play at once, I learned this very harshly in college.

A change in attitude might help, just work hard and and wait for your chance. When you get it, try and make it count. Also remember, its a team sport. Even if your aren't playing every week, work hard in practice to make the starters better. It makes the whole team better. Sometimes this is hard to do though. Also, poeple lose form and get hurt (though it sucks to get in a team that way but it happens).

incidentally today in the semi-finals of the tourno,player got injured so i came up for my 1st appearence.only 1 min was left on clock and we trailed 1-0 .i hit the equaliser from 30 yards out after a scramble in the box resulted the ball to come to me(remember jenas vs. man utd last season?)

and then also hit the winning penalty kick in the shootout. but i was dropped for the finals!!!!!!!!!!

Just train hard, show him in training, it doesnt have to be all fancy footwork, although i love to skill people up. Just put in the work, and show that you are worth a place

You gotta up the effort. Show you ain't scared of challenges, and have a mean streak about your play (like Roy Keane). Also if any of your team mates make a mistake you gotta give them an earful, show them you ain't gonna be all nicey-nicey and cool if they play an over-hit pass, and that you expect their play to be up to your standard.

Also just things like shouting for a header, taking free kicks. Just stamp your authority on the team. I used to have the same problem as you but once I started asserting myself to the team I ended up being one of the best players. Sure, it might borderline on arrogance but a little bit of an arrogant streak never hurt anyone. :)
