I unzip the files in the "user" directory of the game as I am instructed to do, but nothing happens. I see no changes in any of the teams. Is there something else that must be done?

When you unzip the files into the USER folder of FIFA 2000, does Windows tell you that each file already exists and ask you if you want to replace each of them? It should happen for each file in the zip you downloaded. Also, if you are attempting to play a game you saved previously without the files you downloaded, you will not see a difference. You will only see the effects of the "new" files you inserted into the USER folder by starting a new league/tournament etc.
