View Full Version : Tips on offering a contract?

Whenever i wanna buy a player on CM4 the club usually accepts the offer but when i have to give a contract i give one but the player refuses because the dont wanna leave that club, thats fine for me.

But when i tried to buy shearer for example, newcastle accepted the money but when i gave shearer a contract he said the contract was rubbish or something like that.

SO can anyone give me a few tips on a good contract and i also wanna ask how to play the game i saved on my demo (it was CM4) on my real game?

Thanks :)

if the player says he feels the basic wage was too low, you can always try to compesate for that by increasing his 'bonus for appearing' thing.

Try offering massiv Goal and assist bonuses to defensive players, as they will only rarelly get them.

Marc_Angelus is a good person to ask about this.

yeah, Tom is right about the contract thing, on CM4 (not sure about 03/04) if you offer the player a stupidly low wage, but £20k or £30k appearance fee, so that the total is equal to what they want, they will usually sign.

Quick start database. Only a couple of players will be available.

It also often works to give them a min. release clause (even a ridiculous high one). They'll accept faster is my expierence

i've never tried that, good idea, min rel clause. like some guyz, like Vicente and Fernando Torres have like 180m pound clause LOL

Tom
03-01-2004, 12:19:AM
yeah it is weird, giving players a 120,000,000 release fee can actually work.

Drowning-Pool

yes very weird indeed. that means CM makes all soccer players have 0 for intelligence?

Tom
03-01-2004, 05:54:AM
maybe you're right! lol. it does intrest me that there is not a stat in CM for inteligence, though i suppose it would be too controversial and offensive

What do you think Emile Heskey's intelliegence rating would be?

Tom

Emile isnt thick if thats what your implying.

Creativity and off the ball, decisions and leadership, there are many different stats falling back on intelligence in the game.

Not being a "smart" player inside the pitch doesnt mean a player is stupid outside the pitch :)

or in contrast, being a smart player on the pitch, doesn't make you smart off the pitch.. just look at David Beckham ;)

you see everyone, the above post is an example of how to abuse someone on SG

Saying Beckham is stupid would have been slander and i would have had to have said, "dont say that" or "im reporting you" lol

but by saying, in my opinion and adding a nice smilie its ok!!!

Just remember this in the future kids!

Actually, Kader, there are people who act as spokesperson. These people do not speak out their opinion, but someone else's.

PSVFOREVER
15-01-2004, 03:56:AM
release media story, and then you get a praise/critisize screen.

For CM4 this DOESN'T work withuot a patch. Also in CM4 you can only praise/critisize 1 player a week. And it only becomes available after a couple matches pl;ayed in a row by a player. (5 I think)

15-01-2004, 04:06:PM

i dunno i wasnt using extra money for tranfers

might have been because whenever i was offering a contract, it said "you are currently £100,000 under your overall wage budget"

is that the problem?

PSVFOREVER
02-02-2004, 01:17:AM
no, that is still alright. Although it is only a little under. But as long as it's under your wages arent the problem.

Any stadium expansions maybe? Too much spend on transfers?

X-Ter
02-02-2004, 02:17:AM
i havnt expanded the stadium but i used most of the transfer money i was GIVEN, so surely that must be alright?

and i havnt done any other board requests either

Tom
02-02-2004, 02:21:AM
god you're so wrong, i was 150k under my wage budget at Liverpool and losing 2m a month. All through wages.

sell... The way to go. sell and then invest in young players

Lean
05-02-2004, 12:46:AM
You'll probably have to sell most of your stars. Also, when you've got something like 40 mil to spend on transfers, you dont need to spend it if you dont want to (i'm sure you know that, but what i mean is that with Man Utd you dont have to spend 20-40 mil a season on transfers, your team is almost unbeatable already).;) And try lowering your wages, if someone is asking to much i guess you'll have to sell him.

X-Ter
05-02-2004, 01:35:AM
hmmm yeah the board have said that i need to lower wages a little so ill try that :)
