Dude package computers suck CAWK, you should put your own together and get what you really need for example intergrated video card you wont use it if you are getting or have a better video card and that intergated lump of **** is just going to take money away from the better things you can spend on, btw how much are the prices of these PC's?

I wouldn't've thought so, most integrated soundcards are good enough unless you're going to be listening to music a lot or sound really matters to you. Its the speakers that are more important really :)

And yeah what he said^^ branded PC's are a rip-off IMO. You can get something way better for your money if you put it together yourself- there's plenty DIY guides around the net. It doesn't seem that complicated, but then I've never done it so I can't garuantee it:p

I get a new pc and my ASUS mobo p4p800 deluxe IS full of gaps. I have to say i's very good many things like 6 channels sound card many many things. But for gameport i need an adapter which is very hard to find (i did). For 6.1 you need a special card don't know where to find i wiill email asus. For 4 usb which are inside i need again something like the gameport. AH!

Anyway how much u want to spend??

Also go fora a radeon 9600 pro or XT a ge-froce fx 5600 ultra or 5600 or 5700 or 5700 ultra. All priced from 100 - 250 maybe 300 $

for $640 It will be like 50 bucks cheaper if you go with an integrated graphics card, but you don't wanna do that :ewan:

Would that suit you? http://www.shopping.hp.com/cgi-bin/hpdirect/shopping/scripts/computer_store/computer_landing_view.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@1154340 053.1071339063@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccedadckegedgjkcfngcfkmdflldfjk.0&landing=desktops

And the site lets you customize them anyway you want...

I just got a computer from there for christmas... no problems :mrpimp:

Don't get E-machines, unless you're not planning on upgrading it later at some time or another... the E-machines motherboards are ****, really hard to expand....

Ask for the following system :

Pentium 2.8 ghz fsb 800 hyper -thearding
256 -400 ram
mobo Asus p4p800vx (i think)
Ati radeon 9200 se 128 mb

Sony 15 tft

I have found an offer for a friend but don't rememeber how exactly it was and it had more things. Around 1000€ in Greece.

Thanks guys, I'll keep your suggestions in mind.

I have a friend that makes comps, but he may be in the middle of moving. So, I'm going to look into that, and maybe have him custom build something for me -- cheap, hopefully.

don't buy from hp... they're going to put spyware into the pc to make sure that the users aren't downloading illegal music  :kader:
