And the latest cracker is that the owner of Rangers, David Murray wants to buy Ibrox from Rangers and then lease them it back.

Why would Rangers want to sell their stadium then pay rent ?

I wish Celtic owned their stadium then they would have no debt....probably!

BTW I've just noticed my spelling of CERTAINLY in the previous post. Now either its a typo...or...I was drunk!

Because it would help their finances.

Hypothetically, Murray would say buy it for £80 million, wiping out Rangers debt, and Rangers would then pay £1 million each year as rent. Now those figures are not anywhere near accurate, but its that kind of situation.

Yes I know the reason behind the sale of Ibrox BUT;

Isn't this just David Murray losing interest in Rangers just as he did with his basketball team when their total dominance was ended? David Murray is also well known for not accepting criticism.

Now he's getting some and Hey Presto!

Jackie, if you're interested Robinson's Rugby Propaganda Vehicle a.k.a Hearts' AGM was last night...

Check the slick PR here, manages to gloss over everything (or is that grease?) :confused: :f***:

This is his presentatioin re Murrayfield here:

Right Denis read it and

1) Has Robinson faced the usual social argument against sharing with a rival club?

2) Murrayfield - won't it be lifeless during run of the mill Hearts games? What about the playing surface?

3) This money that HAS to come off the wage bill - How much of it will come from the teams below first team level?

I don't want to sound like the typical moaning Falkirk fan with a chip on his shoulder, but how is this going to fit into the SPL criteria? Will the SRU not have first priority over Murrayfield?

Well Murrayfield breezes through the SPL stadium criteria as it's the best stadium in Scotland by a mile. As far as priority goes we only play about 4 home rugby matches a year so fixing it so Hearts aren't double booked with Scotland is pretty easy.

Falkirk weren't allowed to use Murrayfield though in 2000.
