View Full Version : After the ITALY - PORTUGAL game... who u think is better... Figo or Zambrotta
Del Piero - Zidane 29-04-2000, 11:12:PM Well they both really play the same position but Figos is much older and scores more.... My pick is Zambrotta... Not just because he is Italian but because hes much younger than Figo and already is a superstar... They would of been team-mates on Juve.... I forgot to mention this and some of u's might know that Figo signed a contract with Juve a couple of years back but at the same time with Parma and FIFA disqualified him.... Well just trying to make an interesting topic
::shinji:: 30-04-2000, 02:10:AM You've gotta be kidding???
Zambrotta 30-04-2000, 08:19:AM In this particular game Zambrotta was better, but overall Figo is still a class of his own. He is a better ball carrier and his passing skill is fantastic. What's the biggest difference between those 2 is however that Figo also scores some goals while Zambrotta...well he does not.
But Kill4Benfica: Don't make fun of this question, because having seen Zambrotta's progress over the last 2 years and taking into account that he is only 23 I don't know how we will have to answer this question before WC 2002. Zambrotta already is much better defensivly than Figo, and this is also very important for a winger.
He surely is Italy's and maybe Europe's most talented right/left wing.
Mr. Knowitall 01-05-2000, 12:07:AM ha ha ha
Kohler 01-05-2000, 12:58:AM Just one word: FIGO
Kewell the Jewell 01-05-2000, 03:36:AM Ok Zambrotta is younger and might become better in years to come but the fact remains at this point in time Figo is better
Del Piero - Zidane 01-05-2000, 04:22:AM Yeah ur right that Figo is a class above Zambrotta but the kid has got class... He doesnt score like Figo but Zambrotta can get the job done
Zambrotta 01-05-2000, 07:40:AM Yo Portugal fans: Hope your team won't display such an arrogance as you do here, or they'll fail in a terrible way. Big events are something different than friendlies and qualifiers, and given the fact that Portugal did not compete in a major event for years. you could be harshly surprised.
Turok 02-05-2000, 03:00:PM the best thing about figo is the curve in his shot... if he gets a shot inside the box it's 99.9% in!
remember against chelsea? kluivert hit the post and figo scored by putting the ball in lower corner
he's just the best in his position
Luis Filipe Madeira Figo 03-05-2000, 07:48:AM No question. Figo 's the best winger in Europe.
The main problem with Zambrotta is that like all the other young Italian attacking midfielders he's more physical than creative.
He may run like hell during the game and defend better than Figo but his passing, dribbling and shooting skills are below average.
Zambrotta 03-05-2000, 08:29:AM Yo Figo: of course Figo is better than Zambrotta, and yes, Zambrotta's shooting skills are below average. But his dribbling and passing? You must be kidding there? He wrecked havoc with his dribblings on Portugals left side, so come on: below average? HAHA
Paolo_Rossi 03-05-2000, 02:22:PM For now its Figo, but in 2 or 3 years ,Zambrotta will be more complete .Zambrotta aint offensive cause his team base themselves on defence and thats why Zambrotta is very good at it .
::shinji:: 03-05-2000, 02:50:PM I'm not denying that Zambrotta is a good player, and he'll be even better in the future, but Figo's skills are magical. It's an absolute pleasure watching him play, and you can't say that about many players these days.
Game Rod 04-05-2000, 06:37:AM Well, for now Figo is better than Zambrotta, but he also has more experience. Zambrotta has more time to improve his skills.
By the way, did you see what happened to Barcelona without Figo in Valencia's game?
Figo distributes the game and is a main piece in the middle of the team. Were the 4-1 a coincidence?
Zambrotta 04-05-2000, 06:40:AM Figo is currently the best winger/offensive midfielder in the world. Pure class. Hope he stays with his feet to the ground, plays a good EURO2K and finished Top 3 in FIFA Player of the year.
