View Full Version : Can Wolves Survive?
flamehawk 17-01-2004, 11:04:PM Do you guys think we can survive after today's game against Man U? My heart says yes but my head says no...
but well last year we were playing pretty crap before christmas until the FA CUP win against Newcastle. After that we played really well and got ourselves promoted.
Comone Wolves!!
enigma 17-01-2004, 11:05:PM no. a victory against MU is still 3 points.
just a bit more valuable.
i don't see wolves surviving.
but we'll see.
manutd4eva 17-01-2004, 11:07:PM **** no:p
Hugo-45-Viana 17-01-2004, 11:18:PM A win is a win. But, truth be said, they might play better but I don't think they'll be able to win the games they need to survive, the competition in the Premier league is a lot tougher than what Wolves went through last season.
Fernandez 17-01-2004, 11:43:PM the match wolves won was a game, you need to win many games to survive and i dont they will do it...
fender 17-01-2004, 11:54:PM Wolves lack the consistency to survive. The defence is leaky apart from today and they lack firepower upfront.
You need to win today vs Man U, then u go from there (H)
m3th0d 18-01-2004, 01:01:AM they already did. :read:
:(
Sorry, Im watching the taped match :) (Y)
rony31 18-01-2004, 01:15:AM I'm watching it too Savo, dont worry... there's really no point, though, cuz the match is already determined (H)
Aye, its always fun to see a too see Man U lost to the last team in the Premeirship (H)
rony31 18-01-2004, 01:21:AM especially since it doesn't happen very often :hump:
flamehawk 18-01-2004, 01:27:AM Gee, does everyone have to be so direct :(
rony31 18-01-2004, 01:28:AM Flame: you beat City as well, so I cant really say much :p but then again, who cant beat City these days? :kader:
ogsimon 18-01-2004, 01:29:AM i dont think wolves will survive, but i would sacrifice spudz for them to stay up
Thanks for the information Ogsimon (H) (Y) ..

Eh????
i hope they do, for my tutors sake! hehe, i have grown to like them because of him. and i know how it is like to support a weak team unlike my support Real Madrid...
tottiiii 18-01-2004, 04:36:AM they can survive, this win is HUGE for them...but it doesnt really make a difference now...its 3 points, what Wolves needs to worry about is getting MORE points....the season is far from over....anything can happen
henry#14 18-01-2004, 05:47:AM they MIGHT do it at the expense of Leeds IMO. i'd really like for them to stay up.
*prays for flamehawk to make him a mod*:crazyboy:
shokz 18-01-2004, 05:50:AM Wolves can count themselves lucky today(after watching the highlights).
:ewan:
They'll survive I reckon, if they just keep winning at home I think they will stay up, a long way to go yet.
SB9Dragon 18-01-2004, 05:55:AM A win vs. Man U is great but for Wolves to stay up it will be a big battle. IMO they might survive, but it will be like a last matchday sort of survive, on the skin of their teeth surival (H)
Bobby 18-01-2004, 06:35:AM You can't count them out, Miller is finding form. I think he's grabbed 3 goals in 2 games, not a bad strike rate.
And what they've lacked is firepower.
Jedi Mind Trick 18-01-2004, 06:58:AM i don't think you can count them off yet. there's still time and there are other clubs playing horribly right now. but in the end, i don't think they will survive.
pauly 18-01-2004, 07:04:AM No I don't think so unfortunately, sorry.:(

Yea, exactly, that has been our problem, finishing. We create quite a few chances but was never able to finish them off (Camara...) but now with Miller picking up form, and us getting Ganea who supposebly is a good finisher, we are going to be able to do much better then the past matches. and I think we had about 50,60% of our shots on target last match. So we are improving. Now, if only we can bring our home form to away matches too. Hard to believe, but we were unbeaten at home since September. :)
Rea isnt playign bad as well, 8 goals !(H)
manufan 19-01-2004, 03:07:AM Quite frankly, I dont think they'll survive. Or is that just my bitterness at losing to them speaking? I never really warmed up to Wolves joining the Premiership, every since they beat Sheff. Utd, I always preferred Sheffield United, but thought they lost their big game nerve. Anyways, all the best to them.:crazyboy:
monkee 19-01-2004, 02:58:PM I've seen Wolves twice this season, both times against Man Utd and neither time have they impressed me. They work hard but that's about it.
On Saturday, despite their win, they looked poor. In the game at OT (in which they looked better than they did at Molineux) they still looked poor. I can't see them staying up. I'd like them too because my gf's Dad supports them and I'm getting a bit of stick atm so I'd like to be able to make up for that next season. :D
even thoguh Wolves beat us, ever since they got into the premiership, i've wanted them to do well in the premiership.
But they need a better attack.
Judging by the United match, they can defend well but iddn't make many chances...
they also need to spend cash to spend in the premiership, Irwin and I\nce can't hold a club at 39.
Voltaic Borusse 19-01-2004, 03:25:PM Wolves will be back in Division 1 next season, then promoted again, and so on and so forth. It's a redundant proccess. ;)
VanTheMan 19-01-2004, 05:01:PM flamehawk, your head is the winner.
i do believe wolves to have a decent squad.but they will perform a west brom.
i can see them coming back up the alternate season.
and the victory vs man utd will just remain as a highlight of their season, won't affect their survival
saurabh 19-01-2004, 10:30:PM I dont think they have a chance of survival this year. They have conceeded many goals and scored less too.Acc to Premiership STandards they have to raise their game very much.As said before beating ManU will juz be highlight and not make any diff.
