Ahhhhhhhh Wembley....the home of football. When it's finished UEFA should definately accept the FA's proposal for the Champions League final to be staged there. I just hope the new Wembley can become such a big landmark and the most famous stadium in the world like the old one used to be.

Wembley is the home of the English NT and host to the FA Cup final. No clubs will have Wembley has the home ground.

And it's in London.

Arsenal had an offer to use Wembley until Ashburton Grove until it was finished, but since Wembley is opening in 05/06 and the Grove is opening 06/07 there wouldn't be much point.

The FA and Wembley Stadium are aiming to host the 2007 Champions League Final in London for the first time ever.

With the stadium’s construction ahead of schedule, Wembley National Stadium Limited’s Chief Executive Michael Cunnah has written to UEFA declaring their intention to bid for European club football’s biggest game.

The old Wembley Stadium hosted the European Cup Final five times, including the last before the tournament was renamed the Champions League, and Cunnah is excited by the prospect of the 90,000-seat, state-of-the-art stadium staging UEFA’s annual showpiece event.

Cunnah said: "When it opens early in 2006, Wembley will be the best stadium in the world, and we’re determined to bring the biggest events in sport and music back to the Venue of Legends.

"We’ve informed UEFA we will bid for the Champions League Final at the earliest possible opportunity - 2007 is our target.

"We can offer the fans, the players and the event organisers the best possible facilities and I’m confident we’ll be an attractive option for UEFA."

With work ahead of schedule, it’s likely that Wembley will be complete before UEFA make their decision in 2006. The final piece of the giant arch, which will hold up the world’s biggest single-span roof, is being lowered in to place this week. The arch will then be raised 133 metres in to the air, later in the year.

Wembley is already due to host a range of major events including England internationals, The FA Cup Final, The League Cup Final, The Rugby League Challenge Cup Final and The FA Community Shield. It is the proposed venue for the Olympic football finals in 2012.

Wembley is a bad place for us. :rolleyes: that 4-1 match ended 1-1 in the 90 minutes but bobby charlton trashed us in the ET.
