Has anyone wondered why there are so many critics regarding Fifa2000. If we take a close and I mean REAL close look at other soccer games such as the Actua Soccer or the Sensible Soccer series one might notice that Fifa games up way up there in terms of gameplay and graphics. Are we all expecting too much from Ea Sports? Year in year out there are several complains in terms of rosters or other issues. But ONE things is for sure,Fifa 99 is way BETTER than Fifa2000.

We could not stay at the bottom.
Just because Fifa is better then other games, it does not make it a good game.

Compare it with ISS. Or donīt go far way, just compare it with Fifa98. They make a worst game.

Listen dude, EA have employees dedicated "full-time" to do some research on who's playing for whom, and on the tactics generally used by a team. Tactics change over time and therefore inaccuracy there could be forgiven. But when I spend my hard-earned money on a game, I'd expect the people making the game to at least get the basics right. You don't have a Lazio first team playing without Negro or Pancaro...period. Hell, these two aren't even in the squad and that's just one example. Again, Lazio is one of the more popular teams and I can't see how their well-paid researchers could've made such mistakes.

You tell me...if you sat down with a cup of tea and watched a couple of games with Overmars or Claudio Lopez involved, wouldn't you be able to see that their speed should be 7 as far as the FIFA rating is concerned? Read acouple of articles on these guys and you'll see that they clock around 10 seconds for a 100 metre sprint. I mean, that IS their work, man...and they probably have all the resources, such as recorded games, available. You believe their claim that Aston Villa is a stronger team than the Argentine national team? Come on, dude...these are mistakes that a company of their stature is not expected to make. Well, everybody makes mistakes...but to try and rectify them is mportant. How many gameplay (not voodoo chipset incompatibility correction) patches have we got from those guys since FIFA 1996 came out?

Is this true about the full time staff doing player research? If so they are amazingly incompetent in the 2000 version. It looks more like they did the whole thing over a day or two, like an afterthought...

I have to say I looked at Widzew Lodz, Polish team in rest of the world section, and one of their best players Dariusz Gesior is not on the team, while some players I never heard of are there.

EA has gotten sloppy because they know we will fix their mistakes. There were over 100 players missing from Serie A alone. How great would it be to just throw in the disk and say "I really wouldn't change anything here." WC 98 was kind of like that. If they are going to put so many leagues in the game they should at least get the most popular ones right- ie, Italy, England, Spain, etc.

It's going to continue until they get competition from another company. Then EA will lose some customers and all of a sudden the rosters will be meticulously researched to be accurate as hell, in effort to get people back. It's sad that's what would have to happen for them to put more effort in, but it's true. No competition + No raised standards= FIFA 2000

Oddly, maybe the best way to get a better football game from EA is to heavily support the product another company who makes them as well. It might up the ante a bit.

Its okay that we expect the best from EA.

Let's see...

FIFA 99 rulez! And there is nothing that can convice me otherwise. I've been playing FIFA 2000 for over a week now and I finally shelved it--it's been an annoying distraction to say the least. For all those who are thinking about purchasing FIFA 2000 think about it twice.

This is what I found.

Where are the stadiums in FIFA 2000? I can't find them, I looked hard but couldn't come up with anything, in FIFA 99 there were so many places you can play. I can't find how to change stadiums.

I have a Voodoo classic card and FIFA 2000 looks pretty bad (blocky characters, jaggies). On my friend's Voodoo 2 card it doesn't even come close to FIFA 99's plain support for the classic Voodoo card--I'm extremely disappointed. The game graphics also are comic-bookish making the game old very fast.

Gone are the random player screams from FIFA 99 which brought realism to the game.

Gone are the background noises such as passing cars from the training modes.

Gone are the 8 different camera angles from FIFA 99. FIFA 2000 supports only 4 (like, hello? whatever happened to getting more for your money and not less???).

Gone are some really neat trick moves.

Gone is the fast-paced gameplay.

So with all the stuff that is missing what does FIFA 2000 have going for it? Well, the CD can be used as a very nice coaster for the coffee table. The game box graphics look good--uh--yeah, you can use the box for a litter box for your kitten (this is very nice). Umm...ok...
