How would you rate all the Ea soccer games that have evolved over the years. Post your ratings http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif
For me:
1)Fifa 98(World Cup)-cOMMENTARY WAS SUPERB!! http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif
2) F.a Premier League stars-graphics were the best!
3)F.a Premier football manager
4)FIFA 2000( sorry folks,this game just dosen't fit in the top 3.)

FIFA RTWC 98 was the first I've footy game in the FIFA series I've played and it was pretty good to say the least. I particularly like it because of the indoor mode as well as the qualifying rounds for the World Cup.

World Cup 98 despite its lack of a great number of teams was also quite good. I liked the gameplay in it and moreso because you could have scored goals from outside the box and also you missed some very easy chances (very realistic when compared with what we see today).

When I first played FIFA 99 it was the best of the FIFA series by far. But then after some time it became somewhat annoying (for want of a better word) because of the World Class level (even though when I mastered it the game was too easy). The manual goalie feature was one of the strong points of this game but it lacked goals from outside the box.

In spite of all the drawbacks of FIFA 2000 (yes, there are many) I still happen to like it because of some of the added features. The season mode is really great as well as the consecutive seasons. I think EA mentioned that the AI learns your game style and counter attacks it but I am yet to see this happen. The game is really too easy even on WC but I guess you can't have everything now can you.

Having said all of this...here's my vote...

1. FIFA 2000
2. FIFA 98
3. FIFA 99
4. World Cup 98

K, havent got 2k yet but that`s just because everyone says it sucks. Here`s mine anyway.

1)Fifa 99- I like the custom cups n` leagues
2)Fifa RTWC 98- I miss the indoor and wc qualifyeiers
3)WC 98- not that good but it sure beats FA prem manager etc.

FAPLS sucks i bought and took it back the next day, if you want realism don`t buy it.

One day someone will take the time to explain to me why Fifa 99 was so good. I thought it was a huge joke. On the playstation it is nothing more than high speed ping pong. What the hell is so good about it?

MARK: I'm hoping. I'm a simple person with few wants: A better FIFA 2000 (FIFA 2001?) and the Australian women's soccer team calendar. (Here, Brandi Chastain rips off her jersey and there's still a sports bra underneath. Where you are, Amy Taylor goes "au natural" and a soccer fan can almost forget and not even care that the Matildas can't win a Cup match.)

I don't have FIFA 2000 yet, but I think

1) FIFA 99
2) FIFA 98 RTWC
3) WC 98

Many people like WC 98 better than FIFA 99, but I really enjoy FIFA 99 much more, and I also think the commentary on FIFA 99 is better than WC 98.

Agree with you ZZUB.
I don't understand how couls someone complain against Fifa 2000 speed, when it's the same speed as Fifa 99.

Without doubt the best has to be:

FIFA 98 Road to world cup

It had everthing including great skill moves, superb commentry but above all and something later FIFA's have left out - the abilty to score goals in different ways (side foots, chips etc.)

Soccer gamez:

1st: FIFA 2000 (I just love the graphics and the net; I love realistic gamez)

2nd: FIFA International Soccer'94 (that game took more of my time than FIFA 98, FIFA 99 and FIFA2k alltogether. Didn't do anything but playing this game days and nights)

3rd: FIFA 98 (Classics. Simply. BIG IMPROVEMENT FROM FIFA 97)

4th: FIFA 99 (just didn't like the game at all; keeper made a lot of stupid and impossible saves)

5th: FIFA 97 (when played this game, never knew that there could have been a better game)

6th: Actua Sports Actua Soccer Club Edition (got this game in 1996; it was made with poor front graphics in C++. Played that a lot, though)

Managment Soccer Gamez:

1st: FA Premier Football League Manager 2000 (just got this game; normal life stopped after that)

2nd: Premier Manager 99 of Actua Sports(a little known game; very easy and there are a lot of ways to cheat without cheat codes. there are a lot of miscellaneus options, like merchandising; you select what kind of products will your club produce (hats, shirts, caps, sleeves, etc.). Also you can insure every player differently. One way of cheating: taking two teams, and buying all players from one team to another untill you get fired. Than control the second team and you have a lot of money. Easy and Fast going managment. Bought ronaldo once playing in third division. Plus, this game has a better 3d game engine than FA Premier League manager 2000)

4th: TacticalManager 2 (didn't play this game much; had a warez version that I deleted after the format of my drive C)

5th: CM2000 (too boring with text instead of normal game engine. can't control the finances too. some players don't even get work permit from other countries; never knew a player who didn't get one)

6th: FA Premier League Manager 99

7th: Ultimate Soccer Manager 98/99

1. FIFA 99, - I found this game a disappointment for about a week(i though they had it about right with WC98 and made unnecessary changes such as no more long range goals, or the fast speed) but then it grew on me. I liked the realistic tough defenses, the big rosters, all the European club teams etc. I still play this game, while FIFA 2000 gathers dust.

2. World Cup 98- many improvements over RTWC, for ex goalie no longer had hands of glue, movement of players on the pitch was more realsitic, plus the classic teams. Overall a great way to re-live the WC 98. Drawback- no club teams!

3. FIFA 98-RTWC: National teams selection was great- every team in the world! Also club teams to play with much improved graphics etc. for that time state of the art.
I tried to play it again recently but it just pales compared to 99.

4. FIFA 97- for its time I though it was great. Now I see that that movements of players are not so great also stupid ways to score(the long lob to the box for header), plus management options are very weak. If I put it in playstation now I can hardly sit through a game.

5. FIFA 2000 the only game thus far that I found so so at start and started to hate more and more each time I played it. Now I can hardly play a game after about 10 minutes i have to turn it off. Im sick of the high scores, stupid AI, the ugly graphics(compare 99 to 2000, show it to someone who never saw either game and have them guess which one is the new game, I bet they say FIFA99). If you get this game for Christmas I urge you to return it unopened to the store for a cash refund!

FIFA 99 was the best. The defense was the best. So was the big rosters and team management. The graphics were the best and so were the kits. FIFA 98 had the best team management but the AI was wayyyyyyyyyy to easy. FIFA 2000 .... the only good thing about it is the ...... um .... actually ... a bunch of americans do the commentary, the AI is too easy, the rosters are incomplete and not up to par, the players look like sticks, no wonder i still play FIFA 99.

FIFA 98 RTWC was the best. ths game had more ways of scoring a goal than fifa 99 and 2000 put together...the free kicks were better too and speaking of long rosters how can you top the reserve lists for the National teams that had a league...The speed was perfect.the cammera angles were better and it had a better way of customising players name, number and lets not forgett the players attributes...Fifa 99 only had better graphics and a smarter AI,Fifa 2000 is shield and blocking and consecutive season and it even comes short in club teams compared to 99...these two games are too fast and this takes away from all the playmaking and ball passing that happens in real footy and the players are too damn accurate when passing the ball.i had better games in fifa 96 even though the goalies were idiots in 98 they were o.k and in 99 superman must have done motion capturing so i guess the 2000 goalie is the best. but the game lacks the one true feature for a good footie game and tats gameplay....Give me FIFA RTWC with 99's graphics, clubs and smarter AI,long rosters and FIFA 2000's shielding and blocking and consecutive seasons mode 10 not 3 and with a larger field and im a happy man.....how hard can it be to add all these feature in the same game...

My ratings :-

1. FIFA 99
2. FIFA 98
99. FIFA 2000

Okay, I'm being a bit unfair to FIFA2000, but playing the demo prevented me from buying the game. My PC is a Pentium III with Voodoo 2 graphics, and the thing runs too slowly. The other FIFA games run fine. FIFA2000 players don't seem very stable looking either ... a little lumpy infact. I think the EA team tried a little too hard with it.

Oh well, there you go.... EA's rule to the best football game had to end somewhere.

3 - FIFA 2000, best graphics, best multiplayer connectivity, best stability, worst music, pace is too fast b/c players never suffer from fatigue

FIFA99 - BEST DEFENSE, CLUB SELECTION, CLOSE GAMES, GOOD COMMENTARY

FIFA98 RTWC - GOOD GAMEPLAY, GREAT QAULIFYING ROUNDS TO WORLD CUP

FIFA2000 - POOR EFFORT, INACCURATE ROSTERS/UNIFORMS, NEED FOR IGM ADJUSTMENT BEFORE EVERY GAME

FIFA97 - GOOD GAME AT THE TIME

P.S. DID NOT BUY WORLD CUP 98.
