I use a Nostromo Gamepad N45 (because I got if for $10) it works well with the game, but when I just tap the shot button more often than not the shot flies up ove the bar.

Is there a shot modifier for a low shot ?

Is there a power up speed setting that I have missed somewhere ?

Might be your controller if you're just slightly tapping the button.

You don't want the bar to go above the first 25% of the power bar if you want to keep it low.

It could be the timing of the button press, too. Time it wrong and the player will always botch it up.

By the way, I used to know someone with the nickname of Trebor. Did you ever play an online football management game called Soccersim?

I guess this is a minor hardware fault, I use a PS2 => USB adapter

Its great playing PES with the pad but sometimes I will press shoot and it never responds or skies it over the bar.

for more powerful shots press R2 while shooting
if you want low powerful shoot, hold R2 and tap (touch) a bit "square"
how strong it is depends on "shot power" abitilties, speed of sprint (R1) and lucky - as in real life

Hey Mayor, THANKS a lot for the tip man. Changed the way I play the game. Now I'm scoring a lot more from ground passes.
