View Full Version : English Super Patch 2000 (Patch of the Day) - Classic English Teams
Chris Davies (E.S.P. Man) 09-12-1999, 05:58:PM I need your help, English football fans! If you support an English team, and you think that in a certain season they played better than usual, and you would like to see them in the classic teams league in the up-and-coming E.S.P. 2000 (Patch of the Day), please reply to this E-Mail with the team name (including year), a reason why this particular team and year deserve to go in and why they were best that year, and a team list as accurate as possible (first team, substitutes and reserves for that year, and if you can, tactic and player numbers, but only if possible, don't make 'em up!). No team (regardless of what years) can feature twice and in the year you mention they have to have been in the Premiership, Division One or Division Two. OK, well, thanks a lot, hope to see a few replies soon!
Chris Davies
DaSerf2000 09-12-1999, 07:07:PM I suppose you could put in 98/99 Man U for winning the treble but it's basically the same team as now.
Chris Davies (E.S.P. Man) 09-12-1999, 07:32:PM Yeah, I think you are right - The 1999 Man. U. is too similar to the 99\00 team to go in, but thanks anyway!
Chris Davies
Luís Carlos 09-12-1999, 08:16:PM Why not Blackburn Rovers when they took the championship?
That year they played much more than usual :-)
Man U 98/99
With Johnsen fit, and Schmeichel on form.
Remember that Schmeichel is white, not black like the goobers at EA think.
I think a footy sim like FIFA merged with a management sim like CM would make one hell of a game. Any ideas?
Chris Davies (E.S.P. Man) 10-12-1999, 10:33:AM Just a note to say that this is the topic Ric of Soccer Gaming (www.soccergaming.com) is talking about, and since the E.S.P. 2000 (Patch of the Day) is practically finished, come on English football fans, lend a hand in getting this released NOW! http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif

beckham-leyton 10-12-1999, 04:41:PM what about the 94-95 season for manchester united. this is when many of the young lads started getting in the team, butt, scholes, beckham, and the nevilles, you would also have cantona, the schem, pallister, bruce, lee sharpe. it was really the start of an new age in english football that saw many young homegrown footballers. i will be back with the roster in a short while.
Vexapor 10-12-1999, 04:53:PM Chris,
The back to back, European Cup winning Nottingham Forrest side of the late 70s is in my Serie A and Classics patch available for download on this site.
I don't have the data anymore otherwise I'd gladly send it to you in text form. There's also quite a few other Classic sides on the patch as well-here is a bit of the "Read me"
----------------------------------------
SERIE A and CLASSICS PATCH FOR FIFA 2000 by Vexapor
What this is:
Updates Serie A rosters, including player physical appearances and some ratings, as well as lineups based on the first 8 games and minutes played by every player of this year's championship. I was uncertain of about 6-10 player appearances.
Also it:
Adds to Classic Teams:
Milan 54-55
Milan 67-69
Nottingham Forest 78-80
Torino 46-49
(Bulgaria 94 and Romania 94 sent to Israel league; Daewoo overwritten and I believe the Japanese Classic team was also overwritten)
Adds to Israel:
Ajax 94/95
Borussia Dortmund 97
Inter 88-91
Juventus 59-61
Juventus 76-78
Juventus 83-86
Juventus 94-98
Manchester United 98/99
Milan 94/94
Real Madrid 98
Sampdoria 89
*Please note that Hapoel Haifa is not overwritten due to the team's involvement in Europe
Adds to Turkey:
Brasil 94
Croatia 98
France 98
Holland 98
Italy 94
Fixed rosters for:
Inter 64-66
Italy 82
Milan 88-90
Napoli 86-89
------------------------------------
Feel free to use any of the teams I created in your patch. I really don't care about getting credit, etc. Patches themselves are tedious enough. I would have liked to have added more English teams but I'm a stickler for detail and I have much more data on Italy available to me. Ideally, if you could somehow incorporate the teams I created, into your ESP2000, in addition to all of the sides you plan to create, it would probably be the one of the best patches available by far. If I can be of any other help, let me know.

I know that the 1996-97 Middlesbrough team was relegated but at the time it was the most exiting team in the Premiership. Though the defence was rubbish Middlesbrough provided some of the most exiting games of the season including; Manu 3:3 Boro, Boro 7:1 Derby, Boro 3:3 Chesterfield etc. That is why I think they should be in it.

I know you probably disagree but Middlesbrough went in the record books that season for many reasons...
And if you don't think that 96/97 Boro should be in it what about Jack Charltons 3rd place Middlesbrough long time ago!
Chris Davies (E.S.P. Man) 10-12-1999, 10:02:PM Fair enough YLK, I see your point - Everyone keep replying, let's get this show on the road! http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif

Newcastle 4 life
King Kenny 11-12-1999, 12:29:AM Can we please, please keep it down to teams from one season only? I.e. no Liverpool 1977-1984, but just Liverpool 1984. It's so darn unrealistic to have players in a team who never played together.
Thanks,
King Kenny.

nizstar 12-12-1999, 09:16:PM I think Derby County 71-76 should be a classic team on fifa 2k because they won the league twice in that era and they deserve a Classic team on fifa 2k in their honor
