Matt Holme 19-02-2004, 10:13:AM Does anyone here have good knowledge of the Japanese and Rep of Ireland national football teams?
I need some info on these teams. If you think you can spend 5 minutes helping, can you please email matt@soccergaming.com?

donovan929 20-02-2004, 11:10:PM why do u need rosters matt?
Matt Holme 21-02-2004, 05:29:AM If I needed just a roster I know I could find them. I need someone with a real understanding of each individuial player.
Matt Holme 23-02-2004, 07:27:AM Actually, best if I just ask for people to post here.
I need the Top 10 players from each of these national teams:
Argentina, Spain, Portugal, Rep of Ireland and Japan:
Include one goal keeper in the list and order them with the very best players at the top. Include positions. An example for England would be:
1) MD David Beckham
2) AT Michael Owen
3) DF Sol Campbell
4) DF Ashley Cole
5) AT Wayne Rooney
6) MD Owen Hargreaves
7) MD Paul Scholes
8) MD Danny Murphy
9) GK David James
10) DF Rio Ferdinand
::..Federico Debla..:: 23-02-2004, 07:47:AM Argentina
1-) MD Pablo Cesar Aimar (Valencia CF)
2-) AT Javier Pedro Saviola (FC Barcelona)
3-) MD Juan Román Riquelme (Villarreal CF)
4-)MD Andrés D'Alessandro (Wolfburg)
5-) GK Pablo Cavallero
6-) GK German Burgos
7-) GK Roberto Abbondancieri (Boca Juniors)
8-) DF Roberto Fabián Ayala (Valencia CF)
9-) DF Walter Samuel (A.S Roma)
10-) AT Hernán Crespo (Chelsea)
Hope that helps you.
P.S: May I ask what is this for?

Caballero sucks fede, so does Crespo, put Tevez for example...:)
Matt Holme 23-02-2004, 08:34:AM This is excellent. Thanks guys. It just part of the standard research I am doing.
Spain, Japan and Republic of Ireland to go.

Yeah but Cavallero is the main goalkeeper in the Argentina national team...... sooo......
And as for Tevez..... he sucks big time.... I really don't like him AT ALL..... I prefer Crespo 100 times.
NetMan 23-02-2004, 08:48:AM I think that Cristiano Ronaldo doesn't have experience enough to be on the top 10 players of Portugal. He has to learn that football is 11-man game.....
Fernando Couto, Ricardo Carvalho, and Costinha are top players too. Why top 10 and not top 22 or the starting line-up?
Off-topic: Matt Holme do you know if the Euro04 game will have the same type of faces, will fifa04 faces work with euro04 game??
Thanks
Matt Holme 23-02-2004, 10:30:AM I believe the faces in Euro 2004 are much more detailed. However, I'm not sure if the old faces will work or not, we'll have to wait and see. Maybe they will.
Anyway... back on topic... three more countries to go :)
Hakeem 23-02-2004, 11:33:AM hey matt: for what game do you need this info? euro04 or fifa05?
and who's provided the Uruguayan National team roster? I never like how ea put the team in the games :S
For Japan, You're going to want to make Hidetoshi Nakata superb (mid 80's somewhere), Koji Nakata very good (high 70's? Very tough and fast), Shinji Ono a good all round player with good striker instincts (mid 70's). Also I would argue that Sogahata is a better goalie then Kawaguchi.
Edit: You've gotta make Alex tough, strong and fairly fast. Not a striker, but a good passer.
Matt Holme 23-02-2004, 11:55:AM It is just for general research, no particular game. No ratings needed, just finding out top 10 for each national team.
I have the other major teams done, it is just Spain, Rep of Ireland and Japan that I need someone who knows those national teams well to post a Top 10 list.
I`m going to explain one by one the favourite foot for each players. LF for "left footers", RF for "right footers". And this time EA : GET THEM RIGHT !!!!!! OTHERWISE I WILL BE ONLY WASTING MY TIME IF YOU STILL DON`T GET THIS RIGHT !!!!! NOW READ AND APPLY THEM !!!!!!!! :
Argentina
1-) MD Pablo Cesar Aimar (Valencia CF) : RF
2-) AT Javier Pedro Saviola (FC Barcelona) : RF
3-) MD Juan Román Riquelme (Villarreal CF) : RF
4-)MD Andrés D'Alessandro (Wolfburg) : LF
5-) GK Pablo Cavallero : RF
6-) GK German Burgos : RF
7-) GK Roberto Abbondancieri (Boca Juniors) : Not sure
8-) DF Roberto Fabián Ayala (Valencia CF) : RF
9-) DF Walter Samuel (A.S Roma) : LF
10-) AT Hernán Crespo (Chelsea) : RF
Some Japanese left footers are : Nakamura, Koji Nakata ( REMEMBER : "KOJI", NOT "HIDETOSHI", I don`t need to spell them right ??? ), Alex, Takayuki Suzuki, Hiroshi Nanami.

I think Matt only asked for one goalie, so there is a chance to erase two goalies and add two quality players like Carlos Tevez (Boca Juniors) and Fernando Cavenaghi (River Plate)...just an idea...

Hugo-45-Viana 24-02-2004, 02:52:AM LOL, It's very funny how people think Baia is so great. Also Frechaut is no longer on the NT, and for might good reasons as well, the kid was overhyped.
As for the Ronaldo comment of football an 11 player game, this is true, but that would explain why Ronaldo has much more assists than he does goals. And also, nothing wrong with thinking football as an 11 player game, but a player playing in the big leagues wants to do the best he can do, it may be an 11 player game but as a player I tend to care mostly on how I'm going to play.

Frechaut isn't in the NT because of his injury. This season when he was recovered Scolari called him. But he got injured again. I think it's a pretty good player, very useful for our national team, but he's clearly not in the top10.
Matt Holme 24-02-2004, 06:05:AM Awesome guys, very happy with the response. Cheers!
Matt, Do you need Ukraine top 10 players??? If yes, i could post them :D
Matt Holme 24-02-2004, 07:30:AM Not at the moment thanks. They'll be a chance for everyone to get involved with some research in the next few days though. I'll post about it shortly.
