Well we managed to see off the Norweigians in the end

Newc. 3-1 Valar.

But yet again, for the life of me I thought it was gonna be a repeat of when Partizan came to town.

All in all we had 15 good minutes of play in which we managed to score three goals.
A part from that play was poor And Valarenga caused a lot of problems.

The refering was VERY poor even by UEFA standards... he gave two yellows to Bramble and Hughes and one to a Valarenga player for playing the ball... and then failed to produce cards for blatent fouls. His consistent niggling whistling hacked the game to bits: it made things dull and boring. Had it not been NUFC playing i would have been off after 20 mins im sure. A,d lets not forget the free kick that led to Shearer's goal.... that was a disgrace aswell. I'm just getting really fed up... that's why I don't really appreaciate European games coz its just a joke.

Newcastle were booed off at the Half and rightly so. The socre was 1-1 and Valarenga were creating all the chances.

We've had two home games in row where the only reason we won was of the away side's own fault. Luckely for us their Keeper wasnt excellent.

Anywya we're through and that's what counts. I've hoping to get Bordeaux next .. but the way we're playing I don't think that would be the best of ideas.

This was pure luck. I hate to say but we had no bussiness winning this it was pure luck. Also why did SBR play three strikers. It was good to see Brittian get a little run but I have had enough of this poor play against second rate opponents. We need to play a high quality team in order to advance. You say Newcastle needs to play Bordeaux but I think that is with some other motives in mind. Naw I hope we play Bordeaux so you could catch a game but you will more than likely won't get to sit with Newcastle fans unless you can find away to get tickets because I know all SJP season ticket holders get first dibs.

don't worry I have my contacts. ;) :p

a lot of members at the club i play footy are security staff members for Bordeaux marches. So i've managed to get some cool tickets on rare occasions.

I remember when Bordeaux were in the CL in 99 i think... I got to see them play v Fiorentina, Valencia and ManUtd (free of charge) :p

Well aren't you lucky. That is cool one time my contacts managed to let me meet Wolves and Wales international goal keeper Paul Jones in a Denny's. Well it was just a random meeting when Wales played the US in a friendly in San Jose.

Shame Levski didn't get through. I'd have loved to see Ivanov on Tyneside. Well, thank you Mr. Fumbles keeper person and poor sighted linesman.:)

Good for Newcastle to go through, though I must say that Newcastle are one of the teams I would most like Inter to draw tomorrow in the UEFA Cup draw...

Why so Inter could get hammered. I remember a great night for Newcastle in San Siro where our captain made you guys look foolish. I think it is safe to say Newcastle would beat Inter easily.

And I know a certain mod who would agree with me. He likes Juve and always seems to make at Inter at any chance he gets.

we can't predict anything like that .. the way we've been playing this season.
I remember last season i had confidence and belief that we could beat anyone on our day... but this year is different ... we could very well be knocked out by any of the remaining teams.

Then again Inter seem to be in the kind of form as us ... if not worse. So a game against them might be nice. Get our revenge for the way we were fooled at the San Siro. Plus they won't have Vieri.

I think Newcastle have to play like they did in the CL last season to have any chance of progressing. It will be great to see them win it so all my mates can stop taking the p**s out of me cause we haven't won anything.

We may have got the result we were looking for but they were the better team. If we want to progress we must improve.
