Standings:

Milan........61
Roma.......56
Juventus...55
..
..
Inter........36 (nothing to do with the match, just wanted to point it out (H))

Well.. This coming week is certainly a crucial one for both Milan and Juve.. This week could determine the whole season for both teams with a potential CL knockout or losing the title race as a whole..

Milan are up againts Sparta while Juve are againts Deportivo. After the Milan match then Juve have the Coppa match againts Lazio. Tough week indeed..

For this match, Milan have basically a full squad to choose from with no one injured or suspended..

Juve meanwhile could be without Trezeguet and are surely deprieved of both Tudor and Maresca..

Probable lineups :

AC Milan (4-3-1-2)

Dida

Pancaro/Kaladze
Maldini
Nesta
Cafu

Seedorf
Pirlo
Gattuso

Kaká

Shevchenko
Inzaghi

Juventus (4-3-2-1)

Buffon

Zambrotta
Montero
Leggrotaglie (sp?)
Thuram

Tacchinardi
Appiah
Camonaresi

Nedved
Del Piero

Di Vaio/Miccoli

p/s : Juve fans can correct the formation if you think it's wrong

Prediction : Juventus FC 1-2 AC Milan (yeah, im optimistic (H)) with goals from Nedved, Sheva and Kaká.. And Inzaghi might get past the offside traps too ya know? :rockman:

Forza Milan!

( again, some things that have nothing to do with the match but I felt it was funny :

What do Inter fans do when they win the Champions League?
Turn off the Playstation!

What has been the only positive thing for the past 15 years for Inter?
Kallon!

If Juve lose this, Milan can be crowned champions .... theres no need to play the rest of the games.

that formation looks about right... although a lot could change after the Depor game.

Milan don't look like slowing down it must be said. Even a draw won't be of any use to Juve really...

anyway.......

Its a little too early to discuss about the game or make any predictions, but its never too early to make fun of Inter :D

it will depend a lot on midweek performances how this match goes
its almost the game 2 decide the scudetto winner, regardless of milans buffer

well this equation is as simple as teaching a 2 yr old mathematics.

juve lose or draw = out
juve win = in with a big shot seen as milan still have to play roma after.

of course i am hoping for the latter. coz i dont wanna say goodbye to a chance to get a hat trick of scudetti.

i think juve will do it though. i mean you have to say that every team has a rough patch in their season. there is no team that hasnt. ac milans hasnt come yet, i am hoping that the rough patch could start with this wkends match, but at the same time want a very good fight till the last match day.

should be all the makings of a classic as the two most dominant teams in italian football fight for what virtually is a six pointer.

no prediction yet, should come thursday or friday night!!!

jani
08-03-2004, 07:26:PM
AC Milan's hasnt come yet??

Are you kidding.. We played HORRIBLE in the matches before the match againts Sampdoria.. But thankfully we managed to get the results.. And only now has Milan bounced back! :rockman:

Big matches awaiting Milan include Parma and Roma whilst Juve have Lazio, Inter and Parma.. Roma have Milan and Lazio.. But Roma are just doing too well at the moment!

If we win this, we complete the sweep of the tough part of our schedule. If we lose it then Juve are back in it. If we draw, we are still in great shape. I'm hoping to come out with the win because then we can focus on the CL while the lighter schedule comes into play.

Well, too hard to predict. A Juve squad in pieces, but you know, Juve is always Juve, so we cant get overconfident. But depending on the result, it could mean Juve's start of pre-season already. Oh wait, there's still the Coppa Italia, but apart from that, they just try to get the CL qualification, which isnt too far away anyways (considering the quality of opposition behind them...Inter...hmmmm, naw(H) ). A draw would be good for me, then we decide against Roma at home the title.

the funny thing about football is that it is won on the day!!

i mean everyone can say juve are in a crisis. and with ac having no injury clouds should march on and win this one like 10-0 or something.

i think juve need a spark and im hoping that a win here will be that spark. 90 minutes is a long time and well most of u will say oh 90 mins of pain for juve. but what if my boys win? oh wait every fkn person on here will say it was the refs that won it for them!!!! so juve better not win. fkn bull**** if juve win now they are quality. major injuries but for everyone to stand up and perform to their best and win would be the start of the chance to get scudetto JUVEntotto!!!

I just realised that againts Sparta, Milan used all playmaking sources to score..

First (offside) : Pirlo (deep playmaker) to Sheva
First Goal : Cafu (right wing) cross for Pippo
Second Goal : Pancaro (left wing) cross for Sheva
Third Goal : Kaká (main playmaker) lob for Sheva

It shows that now Milan can now attack from all corners of the pitch! And to think of it, Seedorf didnt even play!

Oh man.. I actually dont like feeling this confident.. Because then a lost would be harder to take..

Clarence Seedorf will return to the Milan side for the clash at Juventus. While the Bianconeri will also welcome back some key players.

Seedorf missed his side’s 4-1 win over Sparta Prague with injury last night but he will be available for Sunday.

The Dutchman has received extensive treatment on a muscle problem this week and he’s been declared fit.

The Juventus treatment room isn’t so empty though as they will be without Trezeguet, Iuliano, Zambrotta, Birindelli and Del Piero.

The good news is that boss Marcello Lippi will have more options than he did against Deportivo La Coruna on Tuesday.

Antonio Conte should be drafted back into the side after his suspension, while Igor Tudor and Enzo Maresca have recovered from injury.

There is also great optimism that Fabrizio Miccoli will be fit enough to start after he limped off in the midweek 1-0 defeat.

There were fears that he may have torn a thigh muscle but tests carried out today have ruled out that possibility.

Unfortunately, time only allows me to watch so few soccer games that all I want to see is goals , goals, goals..it does not matter who scores them...although I would like to see Juventus win NOT BECAUSE I AM A SUPPORTER but so that once my semester is done (at which point, I WILL HAVE TIME TO WATCH ITALIAN GAMES EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND) I want to be watching intense games......the league will hopefully, BY JUVENTUS WINNING, be tight then and hopefully there will be some interest rather than a bunch of second team guys going out there to see what they can do(H)

If Juve lose, they will only have the Coppa Italia left...what a dissapointing season it would be...although they have gotten too old at this stage !

Coverage of the Serie A match between Juventus and AC Milan from the Stadio delle Alpi in Turin, kick-off 7.30pm. This evening's clash in undoubtedly the most exciting Italian fixture of the weekend as last year's Serie A winners face the defending European champions in a repeat of the 2003 Champions League final. Milan have had their noses in front for much of the season, but Juve will not want to give up their crown easily as they continue to chase a third consecutive Scudetto.

Nedved: We'll Blow Title Race Wide Open

http://www.soccerage.com/en/13/t7871.html

03/12/2004. Juventus playmaker Pavel Nedved has sent a warning to Milan ahead of the two sides' clash this Sunday.

"We will make life tough for Milan. It's always dangerous to make predictions but we will blow the championship race wide open," he said.

"We are Juventus and we never give in. Milan will play their possession football but we will look to take advantage of our natural instincts.

"They are better than us technically, but we will look to beat them with our power and passion. I hope it will be enough."

Andriy Shevchenko has not scored in Serie A for several weeks and hopes to end that drought at the Stadio Delle Alpi.

“This match with Juventus has come at just the right time for me,” insists the Ukrainian. “I’ve been feeling a little drained recently, but the rest ahead of the Champions’ League game really sparked me back to life.”

The Milan hitman bagged a brace in the midweek 4-1 mauling of Sparta Prague and claims he can further extend his lead at the top of the Serie A scorers’ charts.

But the most important thing for the Rossoneri is getting the points against a Juventus side smarting from its Euro exit.

“Juve are playing well at the moment,” assures Sheva, “but Milan are going a mile a minute and are surely favourites.”

“Nonetheless, underestimating them would be a costly error as the Turin giants have proved before that they always get back on their feet quickly even in the most difficult of situations.”

Carlo Ancelotti faces a tough tactical decision with Manuel Rui Costa, Jon Dahl Tomasson, Kaka’ and Pippo Inzaghi all jostling for two places.

“The system doesn’t particularly bother me,” noted the former Dynamo Kiev star. “The important thing is to win and Milan have done that with both tactical formations.”

Kaka’ and rejuvenated ex-Juve man Inzaghi seem to have the upper hand after their performance against Prague midweek.

“What does bother me,” concluded Shevchenko, “is that some people still claim Pippo and I are incompatible. We have scored 15 goals when starting together and I’d say that is proof enough.”

The home fans staged another protest at recent results, leaving the Curva Nord empty for the opening ten minutes with a banner that read, "Sorry to keep you waiting." When they arrived another message was unfurled that sarcastically jibed, "Did we miss anything?"

Milan are good but they aren't better than any of the top three in the EPL. Italian teams just don't have pace anymore.
Ronaldo or Henry will clobber this Milan defence if they met in the CL.

Milan has one of the best defenses in the world. Its a joke to compare the average one Madrid has to it.

Milan simply has better team play and is not suffering from the injury crisis Juve is. A guy like Trez on those crosses, and they are headed into the net. Good fight from Juve, but there wasnt the needed extra class that guys like Zambro, Trez and DP are capable of providing. Not even to mention a guy like Maresca.

Safe to say Milan will wear the scudetto next year I think. Roma is not as good.

There are players you cant replace. Kaka is one of them, and if you think he's not, just wait a few years then. He's young and he's already one of the best players here. And not everyone wants to join Real Madrid, i'm sick of those teams full of money buying everyone (especially Chelsea, but Madrid aint better though). Also, the Inter fan doesnt have so much reasons to laugh, but he has all the right to do it without being bothered.
Juve fans dont have much to laugh at either, they're out at Serie A and CL, all they can do is win Coppa Italia, and that's not 100% sure, as Lazio are a quality side when they're on a good day.

Football is not a matter of life and death, its much more important than that (H)

Juve and Milan are these clubs too. Only the small clubs can complain about this stuff.
Wrong. You dont see Milan lauching bids at every god damn player with a good reputation (good reputation doesnt mean good, if you know what i mean...). Or even Juve for that matter.

But Madrid is linked to every world class player in the world, and so is Chelsea.

Not as often but Milan and Juve have the POWER to buy bigger players. Juve has been linked with guys like Aimar, VDV and Zlatan who is not cheap. Milan with VDV and Zlatan too. Madrid and Chelsea get linked with the big names because the media needs to sell their crap. :D

Of course we have the power, what i'm saying is that we wont start bidding for every player. Like Chelsea for example, if Man Utd is interested in someone you can be assured Chelsea will bid.

Although that is not a bad thing at all.:mrpimp:
