I was shocked and sad when i heard that the 1-0 win over england was to be Collins`s last international appearance.

He has undoutably been an essential force for scotland and at times has carried the squad. He`ll have to go down as one of our most loyal and great servants in history.

A real shame to see him go when he`s still so good, wish him luck with his soaring Everton side, would love to see him make a return to Celtic Park to see out his years.

Celtic # 1
Thanks John for the dedication to Scotland

Its a major letdown to see John retire, he has been one of Scotlands backbone players for a few years now, my favourite Scotland player for quite a while. Hopefully young Ferguson with time will become the player that John Collins is.

Ferguson is just one of many young stars who will have to improve and replace our aging ledgends

This time next year Ferguson will be one of the world's best central midfielders with every team trying to get him. He's already on the level of any of the English midfielders and he's still quite young.
