View Full Version : Chelsea To Make Beckham Bid?
Larry 12-03-2004, 09:59:AM Apparently Beckham is moving back to england.
http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2002390000-2004112406,00.html
I can so see this happening because Victoria wears the pants in their relationship... :(
shokz 12-03-2004, 10:04:AM The Sun, only good for stories such as Stan "dogging it" Collymore.
Sky Reloaded 12-03-2004, 10:07:AM Becks misses England, this is very possible. Besides it happens every time I start a new CM game
Jedi Mind Trick 12-03-2004, 10:07:AM i really can't see beckham wanting to move to chelsea or another team in england. i mean, yea i can imagine him wanting to be with him family and all, but i just can't see him desiring to play for any other team in england. then again, a year ago, i said i couldn't see him playing for any other team in the world. but i hope he finishes his career in madrid.
Jedi Mind Trick 12-03-2004, 10:11:AM haha yea pretty much right?
eddy_87 12-03-2004, 10:11:AM back to england.....maybe
but to chelski.....naaa.....:kader:
Rochester Rhino 12-03-2004, 10:18:AM it seems every other day that someone else might go to Chelsea
shokz 12-03-2004, 10:19:AM To tell the truth, I wouldn't be surprised if he was linked in a move back to Old Trafford.
Frostwolf 12-03-2004, 10:20:AM Beckham will only go back to United when Fergie gets the sack.
I can't see him moving anywhere.
Sky Reloaded 12-03-2004, 10:21:AM I doubt it, unless Sir Alex backs down and publicly invites him. They are both mules
Help? 12-03-2004, 10:29:AM This could pretty much happen. 140 million pounds is not that expensive for Roman Abramovich. So if he offers 140, then it will be down to talks with the player. And as for Real, they would get a profit of somewhat 115 million from 1 player:confused: :o  (:/) . So if Roman offers 140 then Real has no choice but to accept it, however Chelsea will then have to find a way of agreeing on personal term contract with Victoria.
Jedi Mind Trick 12-03-2004, 10:29:AM well he did say when sir alex gets the sack.
Voltaic Borusse 12-03-2004, 10:30:AM I've pondered the thought of Becks moving back to England, and I find it very possible.

I doubt that Alex ever will get the sack. It's not like half of his seasons were like this one. Unless Fergie decides to retire in the next 1-2 years, but chances of that happening are 5%.
Voltaic Borusse 12-03-2004, 10:34:AM Becks keeps saying he's happy at Madrid, though.
manutd4eva 12-03-2004, 10:34:AM If Victoria coughs, Beckham vomits.:kader:
So she has the last word.:p
Dunno about Chelsea though, 140 million?:o
shokz 12-03-2004, 10:36:AM When your officially the richest man in Britain, its probably pocket money to him.
eddy_87 12-03-2004, 10:37:AM frankly, he'll lost thousands of fans (esp. in asia) if he move to chelski....:p
victoria is a b!tch tho, so, kick her off and find some hot latinas out there in spain! :p

oh don't get me wrong. i don't belive he'll get fired either. and quite frankly i hope he stays at old trafford until he decides it's time to say his farewell.
Bobby 12-03-2004, 10:43:AM Wouldn't mind him at Arsenal, Freddie and Ray always need a backup.
Frostwolf 12-03-2004, 10:44:AM And Gilberto. Three players in one position isn't enough, we need a backup.
eddy_87 12-03-2004, 10:47:AM hah....becks as backup? hmmm.....:p
maybe ray should be becks backup....
oh sh!t, what am i talking about....
oh hell no, he wont join arse! :p
Brujo 12-03-2004, 10:52:AM I really hope Beckham returns to Man U. again someday. It's where he belongs.
Voltaic Borusse 12-03-2004, 10:53:AM This article is on TribalFootball.com, which means this article loses more of it's credibility.
saurabh 12-03-2004, 02:09:PM Rumours:rolleyes:

mufc_daddy 12-03-2004, 06:22:PM I dont think it will happen but i reckon Becks misses England loads.
I saw him say in an interview that he would like to finish his career in Japan. After doing that he would like to start his own footy academy over there too.
VanTheMan 12-03-2004, 09:36:PM what if fergie and becks kiss each other's *** and make up.(H)
david back to man utd would be good.no it would be gr8!
Spurs4Life 12-03-2004, 10:28:PM If Beckham was honest and spoke his mind im sure he would love to go back to Man Utd, but he has his pride and morals to stick by, ive always said Beckham will end up back at Old Trafford when Ferguson leaves. Maybe a move to Chelsea wouldnt be that bad for him, he gets played in the "slave" position in midfield where he just breaks up play and gives the ball to Figo, Zidane and Carlos. Atleast he will play in a position at Chelsea where he can get more involved.

jajajajajaja... manu was kicked out from CL and neville also said that he missed becks..

shokz 12-03-2004, 11:10:PM Would you start supporting Chelsea if Beckham moved there?.
eddy_87 12-03-2004, 11:15:PM gays like him will support any team where becks plays
Juventino 12-03-2004, 11:39:PM Obviosly crap as it is from the S*n!
syaz_wan03 13-03-2004, 12:32:AM :D whatever u wanna 2 say..:D i dont want to start some stupid fights here:rolleyes:
:kader:
PhiLLer 13-03-2004, 12:54:AM I can't see Beckham move back to any other club than United in England, though if he would move back to Manutd, he would only do so after Fergie retires, because as it stands Beckham might want to move back to Manutd but Fergie won't want that, especially since he was the one who "kicked" Beckham out in the first place.
Having said that, I do think he'll stay at Real after this season and perhaps even longer, just remember that the tabloids will do anything to sell papers and Beckham is always a hot topic.
chatterbox 13-03-2004, 05:33:AM Hahaha...this is not a sport anymore ! First off, Real really does not care since they will just get somebody else to fill the "void" that is left by Beckham' departure. Secondly, if Roman made a bid for the player last summer and had it turned down, what is to say that it will go through this time?
If he does want to go back to Old Trafford when Fergusson gets fired, then why not stay with Real until that happens! What does he think that Chelsea will buy a defence but Real won ' t? Why would he want to play as part of a direct rival to ManUtd if he wans to go back there? Does not make sense.:kader:
I read two weeks ago on soccerage that Beckham was saying that his fellow English team mates should move out of England to play somewhere else in Europe cause he (Beckham) was finding it very stress - free....so he was lying when he said that basically !
To be honest with you he should just have stayed with United..if this whole soap opera is going to happen again it will certainly not help Real prepare for Arsenal-Chelsea unless Ronaldo gets back to relieve things a bit !
As for Chelsea, why the heck do they need another midfield player if Veron is getting ready to come back and they already have Lampard(attacking) They will turn into Real very soon if they just go for offence, offence and more offence.
He just shouldn't have left United...should; ve swallowed his pride !

He had no choice, he was forced out of the club. I read a whole book on that. Man United forced him to leave. :(
TheBizkit03 13-03-2004, 06:20:AM I cant see him going
Paulo Da Silva 13-03-2004, 07:21:AM that is highly unlikely, but money(in our society)speaks louder than words
ugluk 13-03-2004, 07:29:AM beckham just doesnt work for chelsea... theres no way he can be on the team...
but then moneywise, 140 million isn't much to abramovich... he has 40 billion... that's like a hundreth of what he has... so he might as well spend that much
chatterbox 13-03-2004, 07:31:AM Yes that is true withe every transfer that he has pulled off so far...almost all the guys aren ;t worth as much as he paid....but the money is there so he does not give a crud !:kader:
I mean why stop there....why not get Ronaldo, Larsson and Vieri along with Beckham?
ugluk 13-03-2004, 08:39:AM i wont be suprised if he does...
too much fuss he should've bought real madrid instead.

rite.. like i said, there is no way becks will back to manu if mr. fergie is still in old trafford
Bobby 13-03-2004, 10:04:AM Even if Chelsea splashed on him, the cash would come right back from shirts and stuff.
Sky Reloaded 13-03-2004, 10:06:AM Not really... we all thought J.P. Magnier would **** Fergie over.. but they ended up in a truce. So maybe Fergie may just back down.

40 Billion? lol!
He hasn't got that much...40 billion would make him the richest man on the planet...by far. Roman's got more like 7,6 billion. Not too bad either if you ask me.
Mr Abramovich is the richest man in Britain.
It is on SkySports now so there may be some truth behind The Sun article.

Sky Reloaded 13-03-2004, 05:55:PM London calls, Madrid answers! :o
Real could sell Chelsea target
Real Madrid are prepared to let their summer signing from Manchester United, David Beckham, leave the club in the summer - but only for a profit.
Beckham and his family are rumoured to have failed to settle in Madrid and the club is awaiting a transfer request from the England international.
A senior source at Real told the Evening Standard: "What Beckham has contributed in his time here is greatly appreciated.
"And while we do not want to lose him, we would understand if he felt that it was impossible for him to stay."
Real are willing to let Beckham go should they receive a bid in the region of £20 million for him.
http://www.sublimefootball.com/article.php?artid=2410
£20 million? Sounds a bit low for David Beckham, when his buy out clause is £140 million.
Wow big shock there.
Why would Real sell thier most profitable asset?
It's only because of becks they have popularity in China.
This is odd, but i bet they will only sell him for the right proice.
Which I imagine will be much more than what man Utd sold becks for.
Drvar 13-03-2004, 06:02:PM i hope he is sold back to england. i dont hate him or anything, its just that he hasnt quite fit in in Real, and he probably doesnt feel good in madrid, with constant threats of kindapping his children.
but even if he is sold, i bet real is gonna **** up once more and buy some offensive player, instead of a defender.
Not playing well in madrid?
No offence but have you seen him play?
I reckon he likes it there, he's more involved and challenges and fights for the ball.
But i reckon the transition was difficult for him, and he would be a lot happier back in his Right Midfield position, but I doubt chelsea will offer that for him.
Quite frankly, I doubt Chelsea can offer ANYTHING for him, except a bench seat he does not deserve.
He should go back to England, but maybe take a teddy approach, going to a little club, helping them out.

Well said, For the meanwhile Beckhams going to be making his name in Real Madrid along some of the best in the world and IF he decides to move back to the premiership i believe it will be when Alex Ferguson retires unless they kiss and make up...
chatterbox 13-03-2004, 11:39:PM if Real give him up for less than that figure of 140 million pounds they they are flat out stupid !:rockman: Even 20 million is nothing for him,,,they should make Roman pay atleast 100 million and even then they would be robbed since the buyout clause is a further 40 million higher.
IF his family is not settling down in Madrid then that might be an acceptable reason and porbably the sensible and most realistic reason that a player has wanted to switch clubs. He is definitely a major part of the team and I think that he should not say anything until the Champions League campaign is done for Real as it would probably be too big a distraction for the club and him !
:hump:
FosterjR2k4 14-03-2004, 12:04:AM I think Roman Abromavich is just wasting his money beckham is a great player but if your tellin me hes worth 120 million thats rubbish no player is worth that amount of money but then again this is the football world money is just a joke.
HellsideUltras 14-03-2004, 05:59:AM i dont understand:confused: if you guys say his buy out clause is 140million then do you really think Man Utd will spend that much money on a player when they hardly spend the money they got LOL
If Chelsea offers 140 million, Real Madrid will be willing to sell him. They'll have money not for one, but for 2 big transfers, they'll probably sell Beckham and bring in Totti and some ramdom player with a world class reputation regardless of position. It would be a good move if you ask me.
FosterjR2k4 14-03-2004, 10:12:PM Totti and Ronaldinho and maldini would be a great transfer for becks but that cud prolly be a bit to over the 140 grand price
SB9Dragon 15-03-2004, 01:49:AM Why would Real Madrid want Maldini? He's gonna retire soon (1 or 2 seasons....)
Anywayz I guess its possible that Beckham could go though I doubt Real would sell their number 1 shirt selling asset :p
Can't stop the rush... 15-03-2004, 05:13:AM http://soccernet.espn.go.com/headlinenews?id=294164&cc=5739
